Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge are set to return with a new NxWorries album titled Why Lawd?

The California duo took to Instagram on Wednesday (April 3) to announce that the new project will arrive on June 7 via Stones Throw Records.

To celebrate the news, the Grammy-winning singer/rapper/drummer and prolific experimental Hip Hop producer shared the project’s latest single, “86Sentra.”

According to a press release, Why Lawd? will also include previously released tracks “Daydreaming” and “Where I Go” featuring H.E.R.

The album will serve as NxWorries’ first full-length release in almost a decade following their critically acclaimed 2016 debut Yes Lawd!

The arrival of a new collaborative project from Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge has been teased for quite some time

Last year, .Paak sparked fan excitement by telling his social media followers: “It’s almost time @knxwledge” while sharing a clip of his BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge rendition of Lil Nas X‘s “Old Town Road.”

The Silk Sonic star confirmed that same year that he and Knxwledge were indeed working on a new album.

“We’re working on a new one,” he told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “I was just over there the other day. You know what I’m saying? We’ve been getting it in. We’ve got a bunch of stuff that we’re really happy about.”

.Paak previously revealed in 2022 that the pair were in “album mode,” with the likes of Black Thought, Insecure actor Amanda Seales and singer Lalah Hathaway expressing excitement in the comments section.

Despite the long wait for a new NxWorries album, the Oxnard talent has been keeping busy.

Last month, he teamed up with James Blake and JID for a new song that was released exclusively via Vault, a subscription-based music app that Blake has promised will “change the game” and hand power back to artists.

He has also made recent appearances on ScHoolboy Q‘s Blue Lips, SiR‘s Heavy and the Free Nationals single “Gangsta” alongside A$AP Rocky.
