Jelani Maraj, the brother of rapper Nicki Minaj, showed up to court yesterday (December 9) after being accused of raping a 12-year-old, multiple times.
According to the New York Daily News, Maraj was joined by his mother, Carol Maraj and his lawyer, during his court appearance.
“Jelani Maraj, 37, showed up to the Nassau County courthouse for a preliminary hearing with the judge and lawyers on the case to set a trial schedule, according to officials,” the New York Daily News reports.
Late last week, it was reported that Minaj put up the $100,000 bail to have her brother released from jail.
“She was prepared to do anything for her brother,” a source told Page Six.
Although she did post his bail, the rap star has remained silent on the allegations against her brother.
