News Bits: Prince Po Tour, The Knux, Kottonmouth Kings

Rock and rap veterans Kottonmouth Kings spoke to HipHopDX about their tenth studio album. Named The Green Album, the avid marijuana smoker and environmentalist Brad Daddy X said, “The Green Album is the tenth studio full length from Kottonmouth Kings
and we have been making music for 13 years. Number 10 felt like
a milestone and we wanted to make a statement of where we are as a
group,,we still feel that we are mastering our craft as
songwriters, producers and musicians. We want to stand apart from the
pack as innovators and creators of original style and sound. I think we
achieved that this album. We feel that it will go down as our best work
of our career and help unify and organize legions of people interested
    in freedom,justice and equality.
The Green Album is one more step in
the fight to legalize freedom and raise awareness and consciousness
about our planet and issues. It is also about enjoying life and having
a great time while you are here.

The release reportedly comes with charitable intentions as well, “We felt we wanted to make a statement and give something positive back.
We are donating a percentage of profits to some charities that meant
something to the band; The Surfrider Foundation, Ward 57 and Life Rolls
    On
. Growing up in Southern California the ocean was a huge part of our
life, but the beach was always being shut down due to sewage spills and
polluted waters. Our deejay Bobby B spent two weeks in the hospital and
almost died from swallowing polluted water. Life Rolls On is an
organization that was started by Jessie Billoure, a friend of ours who
was paralyzed at 15 in a surfing accident Also, my cousin Rosemary has
been a quadriplegic since she was 22, so Life Rolls On hit close to
home. Ward 57 is a hospital that treats wounded soldiers when they
return injured from the war and we have been working with them a couple
years, but it is just a small gesture.
