New Music Friday features one of the biggest names in all of entertainment returning to his musical roots.
While Will Smith has teased getting back in the booth for a new album for a while, that time is finally here as he’s announced his fifth LP Based on a True Story with a little help from Big Sean and The Matrix.
In a departure from the Fresh Prince’s brand of family-friendly rap, Jim Jones is continuing his feud with former friend Cam’ron with the release of “Jomo,” the first diss track in the recently reignited beef.
There’s also a gift from the Hip Hop Gods in the form of Larry June and 2 Chainz rapping over an Alchemist beat on “I Been.”
This week also serves up a number of collaborations with father and son duo Big Hit and Hit-Boy recruiting Ty Dolla $ign for “Slow Your Roll,” while Jamie xx and Erykah Badu knock it out of the park on “F.U.”
