There was a point in time where Jeru The Damaja was not only regarded as one of hip-hop’s best emcees, but also one of the most important. His 1994 debut “The Sun Rises In The East” is unanimously regarded as a classic and Jeru was on pace to be a major player.
“Wrath of Math” followed in 96 and was considerably disappointing. Soon after, Jeru had a falling out with Gang Starr and he fell off the radar for a few years. “Divine Design” marks his first release in 4 years as Jeru looks to return to glory. Sparked by the single “War,” the album will drop on September 30th on Ashenafi Records.
