Nas Announces New Album

Nas says that he will be releasing a new album this summer, according HotNewHipHop.

The site cites an Instagram video posted by user forget_aboutdre that features what is presumed to be Nas on stage during a performance at Orlando, Florida this weekend.

“Death to all snitches,” Nas says in the clip. “Watch every nigga around you, my niggas, ‘cuz shit is real out here. 2015, new album this summer.”

The person said to be Nas is wearing what appears to be a white towel on his head while he’s performing.

Earlier this month, Nas told HipHopDX about the launch of Pluto.TVa streaming platform for online video in which he has a stake.

“We’ve been very interested in how content is being consumed and the patterns around how people populate the day with what they watch,” the rapper said at the time. “We saw that people aren’t as concerned with sitting at the TV to watch a show live but much more interested in watching it on their own time. Binge watching has increased drastically. Netflix even releases full seasons at once. Those patterns led us to believe that quality content that you can have when you want is already in full swing and Pluto’s platform speaks to that. It’s taking that trend and magnifying it.”

    1. C’mon man. This does not qualify as an official album announcement. This is just a mufucka on stage talkin’ shit. If you take every rapper at his word for all this they say on stage while their adrenaline is up and they’re feeling themselves, you’d have to report 50 pages worth of news every night. When he drops a single, or starts doing press conferences, then we can start talking about his new album. I mean, let’s face it, this website and many others have been reporting an ‘upcoming album’ by Nas and Premier for 5 years now. Where’s that? Or the announcement of the Nas/Q-Tip album. Or the Nas/Common album. Nas just gets excited on stage and starts rambling…it happens to everyone. It’s like talking after a fight or some kind of intense competition, you’re not really in your right mind, you’re just saying anything to hype up the fans in that moment. If he drops an album before November I’ll be pleasantly surprised. Peace.

    2. Hooray, another dogshit album from Nas. All the worst beats of 2015 will be on this album. That Hov and Beyonce album looking pretty good right about now.

      1. you been online saying “f qb” for years ain’t been there to tell them that to their face, still saying the same thing about nas from 7 years ago now it’s 2015 and you still here yakking away! lol you a sad individual

    3. Hopefully he’ll be more consitent on this project than on Life Is Good. That midsection with Reach Out, Summer On Smash & You Wouldn’t Understand threw the whole album off.

      1. All those songs were great f*ggot. The Blueprint had far worse songs like Hola Hoveto, Izzo, Girls, yet it’s still considered a “classic”. Stop nitpicking, Life is Good is an excellent album.

      2. All those songs were great. The Blueprint had far worse songs like Hola Hoveto, Izzo, Girls, yet it’s still considered a “classic”. Stop nitpicking, Life is Good is an excellent album.

      3. All those songs were great. The Blueprint had far worse songs like Hola Hoveto, Izzo, Girls, yet it’s still considered a “classic”. Stop nitpicking, Life is Good is an excellent album.

      4. The Blueprint is a classic, asshole. Izzo and Girls are hit records and Hola Hovito is pure Hov at his best. Do you listen to music or skim through it?

      5. @HiiiPoWeR You buggin!!!. The only song I didn’t like on Life Is Good that you mentioned was Summer On Smash. But Reach Out and You Wouldn’t Understand were DOPE joints. You need to listen to what he said on them songs again. No shade I just strongly disagree that he needs to be more consistent when Life Is Good was one of his better albums and maybe a song or two away from being a classic LP.

      6. @Solid

When it comes to Nas’ verses/lyrics/subject matter he can’t be knocked, I’m never worried about what he said. My problem is with how those songs sounded, is that not a valid issue when judging songs?

      7. wow poor HiiiiPoWeR, I feel for ya man. If this was any other site you can have an intelligent discussion about this but not here. Nas could drop the worst album of his career, keep in mind i think Nas is ONE of the greatest but not top dawg (no pun intended, get it? kendrick? top dawg?) Anyways I’m sure it’ll be another DECENT effort but to say it is a classic or anything close to solid album is utterly biased at this point.

      8. first off i feel for HiiiPoWeR because he simply was stating facts. LIG was not consistent and to be point blank it was due to the emotional stress of his recent divorce and the fact damn near his whole check goes to Kelis’ worthless ass. Something about this site and the bias towards Nas is uncanny. Let’s be real Nas is ONE, key word ONE, of the greatest. But he is no Top Dawg (Get it? Kendrick? HiiiPoWeR? TOP DAWG/TDE?). This effort will prove no different as he will drop a song or two before the album drops to get everybody hype on some NYC is back shit but the rest of the album will be decent at best. its OK if not everybody thinks everything Nas drops is classic or solid at worst.

    4. I haven’t bought an album since I coped Life is Good back in 2012. lol I hope he actually drops this time, I need some new music to listen to. Also, fuck that camel Jigga and his Tidal flop.

      1. Magna Carta Holy Grail is a thousand times better than Life Is Shit. And Tidal is not a flop, it’s getting more subscribers by the minute. How many subscribers Pluto TV got?

      2. Let’s be Honest. Magna Crap Holy Shit sucks and Life Is Crap lives up to the name I invented. Tidal’s rightfully flopping. Meanwhile, Dope artists like Wiz Khalifa are buring up the charts with him having the no.1 song in many countries.

      3. Let’s be honest. Magna Crap Holy Shit suck along with life is crap. Tidal is flopping but wiz khalifa is keeping hiphop alive with the top

      4. ^ Wrong. MCHG and Life Is Good doesn’t suck. Wiz is trash, he isn’t keeping anything alive. His trash song isn’t burning up the charts.

    5. all the bum ass nas stans can’t wait for this utter garbage to drop…. it’ll probably sell like 30 copies meanwhile we over here going gold in a week at the 6…. and any of you nas stans wanna talk shit PLEASE, i am begging you come to the 6 and see how we live! this been where you find us at!

OVO XO ALL DAY WIT MY WOES!!!

    6. Nas’ last album was great. With the exception of “Summer on Smash”–which was one of Nas’ worst cuts ever–the rest of the album ranks it up there alongside Nas top five albums easily. Can’t wait for this new shit

      1. Agreed, Life Is Good was a return to form. It’s my second fave Nas album after Illmatic. Beats were great and lyrically it was good to hear a grown up man speak about grown up stuff. I was 18 when Illmatic came out so 20 years later, life changes so I related to it.

    7. I feel for anybody who has the audacity to challenge the GOAT NAS (hint: sarcasm). Look guys Nas is ONE of the greats. Keyword being one but not the greatest. People shouldn’t get blasted for stating that Nas’ album won’t be a classic or at least that his last CD was at worst solid, and boy even saying that it was solid you still better be ready for a debate from some of these trolls. The fact is Life is Good really was inconsistent and all over the place. Maybe that’s because Nas was in a bad place, he just got divorced and found out 90% of his paychecks and royalties go to Kelis’ worthless ass. Any other website would tell you the same theres something about this site that just has some undying loyalty to Nas. Meanwhile, Nas is making songs with Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Meek Mill and all these other guys you “anonymously” troll on and you try to sweep that under the rug. I know it is tough guys but face Nas like the bridge is over at this point!!!!

    8. Sorry guys Life is good was one of the best album. Nas always kills it. Magna Carta was whack as fuck only Oceans was better on that album

    9. lol its funny cause nas and his crew were cool wit slowbucks until he had that press conference wit da lawyer

      1. which is great?… because, you know, he developped himself as an artist…. and all that growth and maturing ish!
