Mos Def is back on the small screen. The rapper-turned-actor has inked a deal to appear in a multi-episode arc on the upcoming sixth season of Showtime’s Dexter

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Mos will play a “hardened ex-con who claims to have found religion yet seems to continually find himself surrounded by violence.” Michael C. Hall’s title character will attempt to get down to the bottom of who he actually is.

The sixth season of the show begins shooting in June with plans for the new batch of episodes to air in the fall. Additional guest star Colin Hanks will appear on the new season as Travis, “Dexter’s main nemesis and a highly intelligent ancient artifacts expert who is linked to a series of grisly murders in Miami.”

      1. kill yo self, dexter is the best show out only show that can fuck wit is the boondocks when it comes back for season 4

    1. Dexter’s an OK show, but I never sense watchin’ it that I’m witnessin’ a real serial killer. Spike’s David Berkowitz epic Summer of Sam, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Psycho, Bundy and the Hillside Strangler are all great depictions of serial killers as they’re all based on legendary murderers. Dexter can’t carry weight as his character is entirely fictional and the creators of this show seem mitigate his nefarious actions by havin’ him only slay other killers and villains. True serial killers don’t have the same moral compass, so if you want to understand the phyche of a killer you’re better off watchin’ Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs. I always liked his character as he’s an amalgamation of Ed Gein and Ted Bundy.

    2. doubl negative…. showtime tv has good themes… but its more about character analysis rather than focusing their entire effort on the actual theme… meaning you aren’t going to be watching weeds to get into the mind of a real drug dealer.. you are watching a soccer mom juggle her business with her fam… just like dexter, californication… etc.. its just creative writing… all those shows you listed are hot garbage.. i would rather just watch a documentary about one of them…. hopefully mos will add some value to the show.. last season was horrible
