Moneybagg Yo has been accused of capping after he blamed his album delay on Taylor Swift, with some fans suggesting he was scared to have a showdown against Lil Durk and Kodak Black.
In a video posted to his Instagram on Thursday (May 25), Bagg can be seen sparking up in his bright red Ferrari while singing along to Swift’s new album Midnight (The Til Dawn Edition), which dropped by surprise on Friday (May 26).

The Memphis rapper said he had gotten word the pop star was releasing a new project, and so he’d decided to delay the release of his new mixtape Hard to Love: Heartless Edition until June 2. The tape was also meant to drop on Friday.
“I just got the news, my little baby Taylor dropping tonight,” Moneybagg said in the clip. “I ain’t gonna lie y’all know how I feel about Taylor man so I think I’m gonna push ‘Hard 2 Love’ back just a few days y’all be patient with me. Let Taylor have this shit.”

Fans were quick to flood the comments section with their disappointment, with some even suggesting Moneybagg Yo was scared to face off against Lil Durk and Kodak Black, who dropped off their new projects Almost Healed and Pistolz & Pearlz, respectively.
“The people checking for Taylor are NOT the same people checking for you ..you def could’ve dropped that shit,” one person wrote, while another added: “It’s okay dawg we know Durk and Yak dropping. We gone still tune in.”
Hard to Love: Heartless Edition will serve as the follow-up to his 2021 album, A Gangsta’s Pain. The project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, spawning hit singles like “Said Sum” and “Wockesha.”
Fans are likely disappointed for more than one reason as Moneybagg Yo’s longtime girlfriend Ari Fletcher announced she would start an OnlyFans if her beau’s forthcoming mixtape goes No. 1 on the charts.

“When Bagg drop his mixtape and go #1 I’m making my onlyfans,” Fletcher tweeted on Tuesday (May 23). “I already got my first video ready… somebody tell him to hurry up!”
Sitting down with Power 106, Moneybagg said he wasn’t in a position to tell Fletcher what to do, and that his fans better support his project if they wanna see her on OnlyFans.

“Y’all better run it up,” Bagg said. “Y’all better run it on up, man. You wanna see this OnlyFans, man? Run it up…She already locked and loaded man. I believe it. I know what’s up man.”
In a separate Instagram post earlier this month, the rapper explained his two-year absence from music to his fans.
“Yooo, I know it’s been a minute. I miss y’all as much as y’all miss me,” he said. “A lot has happened in 2 years. I gained and lost more than I ever thought I would and had no other safe outlet for all the emotions and dark thoughts that came wit that other than making music.
“I’m blessed to have an art form to express myself inside and out with you all. Demario is the one that all the shit happened to but nobody understood that I gotta wake up and be Bagg every day to provide for my family and continue to carve my legacy but it’s not easy balancing the two.

“Not to mention while I was wrapping up the album I was hit with a tragedy that would affect my kids and me forever. Stack that on top of losing Nuski my right hand man to the streets and then my left hand man A to the Feds. It was loss after loss in my eyes while the rest of the world was still moving on.”
Although fans will have to wait a little bit longer for Hard to Love, Moneybagg Yo did deliver some new music this week as he dropped off a new single and video called “Ocean Spray.” Watch it below:
