A recently-reunited Mobb Deep performed for the first time in three years, and the duo isn’t stopping there.
Prodigy and Havoc have revealed that they are recording their first album since 2006’s Blood Money.
In an interview with AllHiphop.com, Prodigy explained, “We working on it, me and Hav in the studio everyday going hard. We are not going to put nothing out there that is not crazy, because right now it is not a game, you know what I mean? We understand the importance of putting something that is going to stand the test of time right now.”
Havoc also gave an update on what he’s been up to in the meantime. “I did that thing for Eminem and he won the Grammy and all, so you know I got the Grammy on the mantle. Got a new one on the new project he [Eminem] is doing with Royce Da 5’9. I just did something for Ludacris. And you know I am going to be hitting 50 [Cent] off because he is coming out with a new joint.”
Always got love for the Mobb. Def glad Havoc is getting props for his production because he is very underrated. One of my fav producers.
Looking real forward to another Mobb album. I like how P is talking about making music to stand the test of time as opposed to sales and spins. The EBJ EP was dope too.
If It sounds like The Infamous then im sold. If not and Its just another album then screw It

Why is Shane hatin on Mobb Deep like that?
It’s like being a hip hop atheist, these guys literally carried the torch and brought the whole culture forward along with others like wutang

As one of their biggest fans I can’t say that I’m expecting more than a few good tracks. The rest will be absolutely generic Mobb Deep music we’ve come to know in the last years. They’re one of the groups who weren’t able to change and adapt the newer style without losing their dopeness. I won’t get my hopes up, ’til I hear something great about it.
Fuck the new style. I dont want them dudes adapting to that gay space music. I wanna hear some raw samples chopped up over some scary keyboard riffs and dark bass lines. FOH
I agree 100% miz….
Imagine Wiz Khalifa singing a hook 4 a Mobb Deep song LOL
‘right now it is not a game, you know what I mean? We understand the importance of putting something that is going to stand the test of time right now.’ – Havoc
NICE.
Most people liked mobb deep before they signed with G unit…
I wanna hear that old Mobb sound , that grimey sound like G.O.D. Pt 3,Quit Storm or the Return of the Mac kinda beats
Damn, G.O.D. Pt 3 has to be one of the best tracks of all time, Havoc topped himself on that with the dark, menacing sound and Prodigy came trough with the hardcore street lyrics to compete the sinister atmosphere.
As long as it’s a huge improvement from Blood Money, then I’m sold.
That’s Right!:
go fuck yourself!
Oh, what’s wrong, Fuck Boy!
You must be a snitch too! LOL
Fuck both of you Rats!
Hell On Earth’s my favourite Mobb ish, it’s hard to imagine a mainstream hip-hop act make an LP that grimey ad hardcore in these attenuated times.
Hopefully Prodigy learned how to rap again while in the Pen. He needs to chill on the whole “I’m gonna rap and not rhyme a damn word” shit he was on. Havoc still killing the boards though, can’t wait for Hell’s Sequel.
Exactly what I thought. That ain’t funny, I mean, not to disrespect Havoc, I love the work he has done for hip hop, but he clearly surpassed Prodigy on the mic, which says enough, P was always known as the ‘leader’ on the mic between them. He should step his game waaaay up, before Nas outshimes once again with ease. I understand that he can’t capture the feeling he had back in the day, but at least I expect that he puts a bit effort into his music. Just tired of all the fans (or should I say groupies for that matter) that dickride everything they release without a proper rating. A random rapper would get nothing but hate for the stuff he puts out now, but hey, it’s Prodigy, so it’s okay. I’ll never understand the standards of hip hop fans, they’re just too biased.
