Miguel has made his return to music and is ready to set his fans free with his latest track “Give It To Me” — check out the song’s visualizer below.
Released on Thursday (April 27), the Scoop DeVille-produced record — his first solo single since 2021’s “So I Lie” from his Art Dealer Chic, Vol. 4 EP — hears the San Pedro native deliver sensual serenading lyrics accompanied by a pounding beat.
“You’ve been so tied up in your mind these days, I know/ A sweet distraction might be what you need to glow,” he sings. “Your body on inferno, inferno, your mind on my, my, my/ But you deserve to let go, to let go, to let yourself unwind.”
He continues on the hook: “Yeah, I like what you got, ’cause I like what you got (Yeah)/ I like what you got (Yeah), would you give it to me? (Yeah)/ Yeah, I like what you got, yeah, I like what you got/ Yeah, I like what you got, would you give it to me?”
Ahead of the song’s release, the singer teased the single via an Instagram post, with a video of him strumming away on his guitar adorned all in red.
Aside from his appearance on Diplo’s 2022 single, “Don’t Forget My Love,” Miguel has been noticeably absent from the music scene. He was presumably recovering from the fallout from his divorce from Nazanin Mandi, whom he dated for 13 years before getting married in 2018.
The singer also contributed a version of “Remember Me” from the Coco soundtrack — the original won the Academy Awards for Best Original Song in 2018 — and he lent background vocals to A$AP Rocky’s latest single, “Same Problems?”
Miguel’s acclaimed second album, Kaleidoscope Dream, turned 10 last October. Released September 25, 2012, the LP debuted at No.3 on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 71,000 copies. It features the singles “Adorn,” “Do You…,” and “How Many Drinks?”
