Meek Mill is reportedly suing the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for false imprisonment and invasion of privacy, according to TMZ.
Court documents indicate that Mill is suing Philadelphia over a 2012 incident. He says he was pulled over and told that law enforcement officials smelled marijuana in his car. They searched his vehicle and handcuffed the rapper “for refusing to let cops search” his car, as per the publication.
Mill says the incident caused hims to miss a flight to Atlanta, Georgia. The private jet cancellation reportedly cost $22,000. Moreover, Mill says he missed a public appearance that would have paid him $39,000.
Court documents also show that Mill claims he lost money when attempting to negotiate a $2 million deal with Puma. He says negative publicity from the 2012 incident caused him to settle for $650,000.
In March, Mill announced Dreams Worth More Than Money, the rapper’s upcoming sophomore album. At the time of the album announcement, Mill said the project would be released this summer.
dumb nigga spending 22k to go and make 39k LOL
hustling backwards
22k is for the cancellation fees. Learn how to read dumb nigga.
Which is probably the same amount it was going to cost him had he not cancelled the flight.
Either way he dont need a private jet, hes not Diddy or Jay-Z
Hustling backwards would be spending 39k to make 22k. It was the other way around he’s still up 17K retard how much can you make in one trip?
i thought real gangstas dont sue?
lmao! them nikkas do be suing, huh? pressing charges and shit, huh, fuck ass nikka? lol u a cornball, let it be known philly don’t fuck with u no more
Meek must think he Kanye West! He’s tripping if he thought PUMA was really gonna give him 2 million bucks to wear their shoes.
I can’t believe they could afford to give him 650k in the first place. It’s not like anyone is going out and buying up PUMAS because Meek Mill is endorsed by them.
How you gonna sue a broke city
i dont wanna hear this man talkin bout runnin philly no more. if you really loved your city you wouldnt be trying to steal their money.
i dont see beans suing philly.
that’s because beans too busy doing time in the pen
meek should just be grateful hes not in the same spot
“He says negative publicity from the 2012 incident caused him to settle for $650,000.”
How is a street/ gangster rapper getting arrested negative publicity? Has Puma not listened to his lyrics?
Philly takin’ a BIG L!!!
Why you payin 22k to go make 39k. Catch a delta flight for 400 hundred dollars and make 38k? That’s bad hustlenomics
The cost of chartering a private jet is calculated by multiplying the flight time by the hourly rate, plus expenses. The flight time is calculated using one of several flight-planning programs designed to calculate estimated flight times. The flight times are calculated taking into account aircraft speed, typical winds and anticipated routing by air traffic control and are estimated to the nearest 1/10th of an hour. The hourly rate is dependant on the aircraft class.
The estimated flight time from New York to Nassau is 2 hours and 54 minutes, or 2.9 hours, and the return flight is estimated at 2 hours and 48 minutes or 2.8 hours. The total round-trip flight time is 5.7 hours. This is the number of hours the rate will be multiplied by to get our cost.
Aircraft hourly rates are dependant on aircraft size. There are three common size classes, based on cabin dimensions: light or small jets, mid-size or medium jets, and heavy or full-size jets. For a more information on aircraft cabin sizes and performance, please visit this jet charter fleet gallery. Light jets typically cost around $2,500 per flight hour, mid-size jets cost around $3,200 per flight hour and heavy jets cost on average $4,500 per hour and up.
Back to the Bahamas. If we multiply our flight estimate of 5.7 hours by the hourly rate of a mid-size jet of $3,200 per hour, our base flight charges come to $18,240.
In addition to flight charges, the charterer is responsible for all charges incurred during the trip, including over-night charges, landing fees, International fees, catering and flight-phone usage.
Flying a plane is expensive so its typical for the plane to wait while the passengers go some place. On our trip to The Bahamas, the plane will be staying overnight for three nights, from Thursday through Saturday night. The costs associated with parking the plane and covering expenses of the flight crew are borne by the charterer. These costs are typically charged at a flat rate of $600 per night. These charges add $1,800 to the cost of our charter.
Running and maintaining an airport is an expensive proposition. One of the ways airports collect revenue is by charging a fee to every plane that uses the airport. These charges are appropriately called landing fees. Our flight to the Bahamas will land twice, once in the Bahamas and again in New York on the return flight. Landing fees generally run $150 per landing for a mid-size jet so this will add $300 to the cost of the charter.
The Bahamas is outside of the United States. Flying internationally requires permits, and permits mean paperwork. Permits must be obtained from Customs and Immigrations in the Bahamas granting permission for the plane, crew, and passengers to land and enter the country, as well as from United States Customs and Immigrations for the return. The cost of having these documents prepared for a charter is passed on to the charterer. International fees for the Bahamas will add approximately $1,500 to the cost of the charter.
Standard catering on a private jet includes full beverage service and light snacks. Passengers often want to enhance their flying experience by ordering a special meal service or a special beverage service and the cost of service is passed along to the charterer. Sandwiches and beer will add around $100. Champagne and Caviar could add as much as $1,000. Additionally, the aircraft is equipped with a flight-phone. Usage is billed at cost when incurred.
So lets recap:
Flight Charges $18,240
Overnight fees $1,800
Landing fees $300
International fees $1,500
Catering/Phone $300
Total Cost $22,140
This is the total cost for the plane. A mid-size jet can generally seat 8 passengers so the cost would be the same if we had one passenger or eight.
In response to our original question of So how much does it really cost to charter a private jet?, I guess the long answer is $22,140 if youre going from New York to the Bahamas for a long weekend. If you have 8 passengers and you figure the cost at around $2,750 per passenger, the short answer is as we said Not as much as youd think.
Your essay don’t deserve to be read
he’s worth less than 2 million bucks, he has no business chartering private planes, sit yo azz in first class.
Meek will win cause he runs Philly.
I hope he takes that 2 million dollars away from the hoods and his community and people that really need it and buys some gold teeth and a Bugatti to stunt on them poor folk.
The only thing Meek runs is his debt.
39k seems like such a random number for an appearance fee.
Sue those honkies. He’s going to need the money because he’s never dropping an album again.
Honkies? Philly is majority black so hes taking from his own.
Yeah but let’s not act like “his own” are actually the ones in charge of the city.
they could be but “his own” people are deadbeats with no ambition or desire to better their lives
I’m sure this is going to work out great for Meek Mill. Now the police are going to fuck with you even more.

I hope he takes that 2 million dollars away from the hoods and his community and people that really need it and buys some gold teeth and a Bugatti to stunt on them poor folk.
He actually was donating it to charity but philly held his money for themselves.
Meek only donates to himself.
Time is money the time he saves by flying private he can do another show that same night do the math!
Meek must be broke. A real boss would never sue the city they shout out in every one of their songs.
You think Jay-Z would sue NYC? Would Game ever sue Compton? Would Gucci Mane ever sue Atlanta?
I could see Game suing the LAPD lol
50 Cent sued NY for turning on him.
STFU and go sue Young Buck over a loan you gave him.

You are an idiot.
Naw thats what they said 2 weeks ago when 50 Cent won his lawsuit against WorldstarHipHop for using his image without permission.
50 sued Young Buck and then he sued Q from WorldStar, I swear he hates Black people.

You think Jay-Z would sue NYC? Would Game ever sue Compton? Would Gucci Mane ever sue Atlanta?
Nah, they own too much power over them to be sued. In Jay Z’s case, he works as a slave for timberlake.
Jay Z’s not a slave to anyone.
Suing the police can cause you more harassment but fuck it, get ya money my nigga.
hes most likely going to lose, it will end up costing him lawyer money and will still end up getting more police harassment!
