“It’s such a personal story for me, based off my own experiences as a child and even as an adult. I was so used to people telling me ‘no’ and that I ‘couldn’t’ which only motivated me more. My hope with this book is that it instills in kids from an early age that they can do anything they aspire to do. There are no limits to what they can accomplish!”

She concluded: “Mary Can!, illustrated by award winning @ashleigh_corrin, is officially out on March 28th. Follow the link in my bio to preorder your copy today!”

News of Mary J. Blige’s children’s book comes after a very big year for the singer. In February, she performed during the Super Bowl halftime show alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent. Following the performance, streams of her 2001 song “No More Drama” saw a massive 520 percent increase.

Mary released her 14th studio album, Good Morning Beautiful, the same weekend as her Super Bowl performance, and this week it received six Grammy Award nominations including Album of the Year and Best R&B Album.
