Marvel Comics Reimagines Classic Rap Cover Art

Marvel Comics has released comic book covers for Ant-Man, Spiderman and Iron Man that were inspired by Hip Hop album covers. More than 50 covers inspired by Rap album artwork are scheduled to be revealed by Marvel in October.

“For years, Marvel Comics and Hip Hop culture have been engaged in an ongoing dialog,” Marvel EIC Axel Alonso said. “Beginning this October, we will shine a spotlight on the seamless relationship between those two unique forces.”

X-Men’s comic book cover gives a nod to De La Soul’s 3 Feet High and Rising, while Howard The Duck’s cover pays homage to Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version.  A$AP Rocky’s Long.Live.ASAP is reimagined on Sam Wilson’s comic book cover and The Notorious B.I.G.’s Ready To Die was the model for the Ant-Man cover.
