Madlib has assembled a heavyweight lineup of Hip Hop legends for his second Madlove benefit show aimed at helping those affected by the recent wildfires in Los Angeles — and this one will be in the city itself.
The concert will take place on April 16 at the Echoplex in the Echo Park neighborhood, and promises performances and DJ sets from the likes of The Alchemist, Mick Jenkins and Pink Siifu.

In a message on Instagram, Madlib wrote: “With all the love NYC showed, we are excited to bring you the LA MADLOVE BENEFIT! We’re beyond grateful to the DJs and performers who volunteered their time to make this happen. If we missed anyone, just know it wasn’t intentional—our hearts are in the right place!”

An initial benefit concert, held in New York earlier this month, featured appearances from Black Thought, Pete Rock, Just Blaze, Your Old Droog and Statik Selektah, among others.
In January, Madlib revealed that he had lost his family home as a result of the devastating wildfires that burnt through thousands of acres in Los Angeles, and turned to fans for help.
His manager Stacy Epps shared the sad news on social media, writing on Instagram: “We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your support in helping legendary producer Madlib and his family rebuild after losing their home, decades of music, and equipment in the devastating LA fires.”
Epps shared a link to an online fundraiser to “Help Madlib and His Family Rebuild After Tragic Loss.”

“Your donation, no matter the amount, will provide assistance to help Madlib with immediate personal needs, essentials like clothing, temporary housing, transportation costs and the tools Madlib needs to continue creating the music that has touched so many lives,” the post continued.
“100% of your donations are tax deductible and will go directly to Madlib and his family.”
