Madlib Seeks Help After Losing Family Home & ‘Decades Of Music’ In L.A. Wildfires

Madlib has lost his and his family’s home as a result of the fires currently burning through Los Angeles, and he is asking for assistance.

On Monday (January 13), the producer and his manager Stacy Epps shared the sad news via social media.

“We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your support in helping legendary producer Madlib and his family rebuild after losing their home, decades of music, and equipment in the devastating LA fires,” they both posted on Instagram.

They shared a link to an online fundraiser to “Help Madlib and His Family Rebuild After Tragic Loss.”

“Your donation, no matter the amount, will provide assistance to help Madlib with immediate personal needs, essentials like clothing, temporary housing, transportation costs and the tools Madlib needs to continue creating the music that has touched so many lives,” the post continued.

“100% of your donations are tax deductible and will go directly to Madlib and his family.”

The fundraiser, via the online fundraising system Donorbox, can be found at donorbox.com/madlibrebuild.

Madlib is far from the only musical figure of note to have lost their home due to the fires.

Jhené Aiko‘s home has been destroyed in the devastating fires sweeping through Los Angeles, but she is thankful that she and her family are safe.

Taking to her Instagram Story amid the second day of harsh winds and fires in the southern California region on Wednesday (January 8), the singer said: “Praying for everyone this morning. Those who lost their home. Those who lost their life’s work, those who lost their life. Praying for my city. Praying for the wildlife and lost pets. Praying for the world [heart emoji] let suffering be a gift; a lesson in compassion.”

Later that day, she revealed she’d suffered the loss of her home.

“Me and my children’s home is gone [heartbreak emoji] burned to the ground with all of our things inside. Lord have mercy [prayer emoji] thankful we still have each other [heart emoji] Starting from scratch. My heart is so heavy [heartbreak emoji].”

    1. Sorry I can’t pity a celebrity for losing his mansion with a thousand acres backyard and ten yards pool. My compassion is reserved for those who live every day of the year in need and insecurity. Not for a celebrity who will have all his damages covered by his insurance. FOH with this bullshit.

      1. Its estimated he’s worth $4 million. Like I said with Jhene Aiko, I’m sure he’ll be perfectly fine 🤣🤣

      2. he aint lookin 4 pity he want some money for clothes, how you own a million dollar home & dont have like 5 100K homes stashed all over for backup?

      3. What type of worthless sack of turds says this when a person’s home is burnt to the ground? Tragedy is tragedy. Trying to undermine it because he was willing to chase his dreams and build an amazing life for himself only shows jealousy and an envious, ugly heart.

    2. idk what the number should be & I hate tragedy but lets say you own a 1M plus home means ya needed like 200 bands & youve been in a certain tax fracket for 5+ years i font think gofubmes are approriate idk guess it sucks for the top 1%

    3. I had to seek help after I realized my aunt gave me herpes. My dad told me his hot glaze would cure me. I hope he’s right.

    4. Meanwhile, you have people like Harry Mack asking his fans not to donate to him but to donate to his neighborhood.
