After a terrific showing at the Coachella Valley Music Festival, Quannum recording artist, Lyrics Born will set out on a three month tour of the United States.
The non-hyphy Bay Area rapper started things off last night in Portland, Oregon and he’ll work his way down the West Coast until he reaches Benbow, CA June 6. At which point, Lyrics Born, real name Tom Shimura, will switch coasts to perform at another festival, the Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, TN as well as Lollapalooza in Chicago ultimately finishing the tour with stops on the famous, Santa Monica Pier and Paradise in Boston.
According to his website, mixes for the Lyrics Born live album are going through approvals right now and the new studio material for the album is being mixed and recorded as well. All the work is in hopes of a late summer release date. As if Shimura wasn’t busy enough he’s also mastering his wife, Joyo Velarde’s solo album, featuring production nods to RJD2, Headnodic, Jumbo of Lifesavas and Jake One.
