Logic is back with a bundle of new tracks over beats from some of his favorite artists, proving yet again that he is as much a student of the game as he is a practitioner — stream it below.

On Monday (September 18), the Maryland native dropped his “first free mixtape in 10 years,” Inglorious Basterd. The 20-track project features a mix of original songs, previously unreleased demos and freestyles over popular instrumentals.

Rapping over someone else’s beats was a common practice during the blog era, and Bobby Tarantino has revived the lost craft as he offers his own renditions of classic songs by Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Lupe Fiasco, Busta Rhymes and Talib Kweli and more.

These include K. Dot’s “HiiiPoWeR,” Drizzy’s “Started From the Bottom,” Ye’s “Real Friends,” Wayne’s “A Milli” and Wiz’s “Mezmorized,” as well as the heavily-flipped “Int’l Player’s Anthem (I Choose You)” by UGK and OutKast, and Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth’s “They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.).”

Logic also broke down the credits for each song on Twitter and even added a synopsis to some cuts, one of which is a “demo from The Incredible True Story that later turned into a No Pressure song that was never released” and another that contains “a lovely message to Childish Gambino and [his manager] Fam.”

The mixtape also showcases the many shades of Logic, from him rapping drunk to discussing the music industry to geeking out over his favorite Hollywood films.

Inglorious Basterd is his 10th mixtape overall and second full-length release this year following College Park, which dropped in February via his new partnership with BMG.

The 33-year-old father-of-two has one of the busiest minds in Hip Hop, and one of his current endeavors is an unlikely collaboration with Asher Roth. Earlier this year, the former frat-rap star appeared on the Fly Fidelity podcast, where he revealed that he’s working an EP produced entirely by Logic.

The DMV native is no slouch behind the boards having produced much of his own material throughout his career. He even released his own beat tape, Peanuts, last year.
