Lizzo is unapologetic when it comes to flaunting her curves. Whether clothed or totally naked, the Grammy Award-winning artist seems comfortable in her skin and this summer is apparently going to be no different.
On Tuesday (June 15), Lizzo shared an Instagram video of herself rocking an Ashanti Swimwear string bikini while taking a note from Megan Thee Stallion’s Hot Girl Summer playbook. But Lizzo’s summer is going to be full-figured friendly. At the same time, she coined a new phrase for her abdomen area — instead of abs, she says she has “Fabs” or fat abs.
“PSA: BIG GRRRL SUMMER = BREAK OUT THE BIKINIS,” she wrote in the caption. “FABS ON DECK HOE! BIG FAT ASS PURRRRRRRRRRRRR.”
Lizzo has been a champion for body positivity and self-love since she made her commercial breakthrough in 2019. During an interview with Teen Vogue last year, she attempted to smash the stereotypes surrounding plus-size women.
“I’ve been working out consistently for the last five years,” she said at the time. “It may come as a surprise to some of y’all that I’m not working out to have your ideal body type. I’m working out to have my ideal body type.” When asked what her ideal body type was, she replied it was nobody’s business then added, “I am beautiful, I am strong, I do my job, and I stay on my job.”

But that doesn’t mean she isn’t constantly fending off critics. Last June, the platinum-selling star shared a TikTok video showing herself exercising and had a clear message for all her haters.
“Next time you wanna come to somebody and judge them whether they drink kale smoothies or eat McDonald’s or work out or not work out, how about you look at your own fucking self and worry about your own god damn body because health is not just determined on what you look like on the outside, health is also what happens on the inside,” she said. “And a lot of y’all need to do a fucking cleanse for your insides. Namaste. Have a great day.”
