Lipton To Promote Slaughterhouse And Other Shady Artists

After collaborating on a multi-million dollar Super Bowl XLV commercial, Lipton and Detroit rapper Eminem have agreed to an extended partnership. The New York Times reports Lipton will help promote artists from Eminem’s Shady imprint, which is home to Slaughterhouse, Yelawolf and Ca$his.

“There will be events with the artists and, later in the year, live music events; the first artist event, with the hip-hop group Slaughterhouse, was held in New York on Tuesday,” wrote Stuart Elliott of the Times. “Consumers will also have a chance to sample the artists’ music in nontraditional ways.”

Elliott is referring to Slaughterhouse’s performance at the Highline Ballroom last week. The even, which was sponsored by Lipton, was in celebration of Slaughterhouse’s EP release. The part of the deal that calls for consumers to “sample the artists’ music in nontraditional ways” could likely involve the type of licensing that allows Shady to release projects in a more timely fashion. Artists such as Stat Quo and Bobby Creekwater were previously signed to Shady, but both ended up leaving the label before their albums were released.

    1. I can already see the ad campaign in my mind, with Slaughterhouse members donning smoking jackets and sipping tea older english gentleman-style in rocking chairs while talking about the weather.

    2. yea this is a good look, slaughterhouse album should be good, i bought the last one thought it may have been a little over rated they need to learn how to mesh better and put together some quality songs.

    3. That’s sort of fucked up for cats like Obie Trice, Stat Quo, and Bobby Creekwater that use to be with Shady…I bet their blood is boiling right now from this news…I wonder if D-12 are gonna get promoted in the Lipton Ads as well? If not then expect some shots to be fired from somebody without warning…

    4. looks like Eminem will be easily handing Slaughterhouse a platinum plaque on silver platter by doing this since Slaughterhouse won’t be able to earn that platinum plaque without Eminem on their own. if these guys get over it’ll only be because of Eminem’s involvement and not because of Slaughterhouse’s work alone. get it how you can quickly get it i guess but i’m sure this type of news isn’t gonna sit right with Stat Quo since Em never did anything like this for any of the other artists that were over there.

      1. Who gives a shit about how much they sell or why they would sell. These dudes are about to put out some fire with full support from their label. I think that’s more important than numbers dude.

      2. Numbers do come into the equation though when even the hottest artists dont sell and thus never get another album because the shit didnt sell…no matter how fire it was.

    5. Great now here comes the commercialism of one of the true hip hop groups out there. I knew them signing with Em was bad for business. Before you know they will have Rihanna and Lil Wayne on there tracks and making garbage pop music just like Eminem. Please Slaughterhouse don’t do it. Stay real please!!

    6. “Eminem’s Shady imprint, which is home to Slaughterhouse, Yelawolf and Ca$his.”

There is not even a mention of D12 in this…they even still on the label?

    7. I have to agree that the last Slaughterhouse album wasn’t good. It seemed like it was put together very hastily and that showed.. guys are incredible emcees but they need to figure out how to create good SONGS as a group, not just a bunch of verses put together. I’ll go and just say it, the last album was BORING. Too many similar songs, dudes need more variety in beats, better hooks and stuff like that. There’s no question about their rap/writing abilities, but now they have to prove their musical abilities to me!!! Take your time and make something that will be remembered 2-3 decades from now!

      1. Hooks are fucking gay. Get a real producer like Preemo on the beat and then you don’t need hooks you can just use cuts…the way hip hop was meant to be
