Lil Wayne’s ‘Funeral’ Debuts At No. 1 On Billboard 200

Lil Wayne has earned the fifth No. 1 album of his career. The Young Money rapper’s Funeral LP has debuted at the top of the Billboard 200, giving Weezy back-to-back No. 1 albums following Tha Carter V’s performance in 2018.

Wayne’s Funeral sold 139,000 album equivalent units for the week ending February 6, according to Nielsen Music. The project moved 38,000 copies in terms of pure albums sales, but the LP was bolstered by its songs racking up 134 million on-demand streams.

Funeral joins Wayne’s Tha Carter III, I Am Not A Human Being, Tha Carter IV and the aforementioned Carter V as No. 1 albums in his discography. All of the chart-topping entries in his Carter series have been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America while I Am Not A Human Being received a gold certification.

Weezy’s latest appearance on the Billboard 200 knocked down Roddy Ricch’s Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial down to No. 2 after Roddy ascended to No. 1 for the third time last week. Eminem’s Music To Be Murdered By was bumped down by Wayne too, moving from No. 2 to No. 3.

Another debut, Russ’ SHAKE THE SNOW GLOBE, entered the chart at No. 4. The LP marks his second Top 5 album following 2018’s ZOO, which also peaked at No. 4 on Billboard 200.

    1. Real talk, I don’t believe nobody but his label buy his shit and they pass it out at concerts. Never bought one in my life, not even a song. UGK yes, Bone Thugs yes, Juvenile Yes, B.Gizzle Yes, Lil Wayne NO

      1. His last album, Tha Carter V sold over 450k. It’s entirely possible and likely this album pulled these numbers. Especially a surprise drop

    2. I only bought CD for my collection. There’s barely any replay value in this album. Eminem’s Revival >>> than this sh!t.

    3. Wayne is number#1…thank god … get that wigga hop bullshit out of here.. white rap fans of Feminen are livid.. lol it’s the death of wigga hop

      1. Wayne – Funeral – 38,000 pure album sales, Eminem – MTBMB – 117,000 pure album sales, that’s 3x what Wayne sold haha I’m sure Eminem fans are really mad lol

        1. Wayne has effectively put Em out to pasture.. old wigga hoppers apparently never die.. they just linger.. babbling, pissy , toothless and sick.. Wayne is floating like a butterfly.. stinging like a bee.. Em is nasty , fat , flabby and pale.. ( I speak those facts that are hard to digest.. But nevertheless must be said.. #carryon wigga hoppers..

          1. You haven’t stated facts on any of your incoherent and racist ass comments across this site. Get a life you fuckin chode

            1. Chode… lol hahaha keep it coming.. sooner or later a dope fiend does what all dope fiends do..#drugs .. hard drugs and I love the fact that this fool loves drugs.. I hope he’s back speedballing… get that needle out of your arm fool.. however it’s way past time for uncle Elton pull Em out of the closet.. it’s the death of wigg hop!

            2. Easy for you to say since you never got off the drugs right? Fuckin bum ass bitch spends all day typing on a keyboard cause he doesnt like the white guy. PEccY Poo this and FEmINem that, you make insults like a fuckin fourth grader. Hating Em does literally nothing if all you do is run your fat fuckin fingers on a keyboard all day… and let me guess you next insult would be some ‘these fat fingers in your mom and fuck whitey’ rant. Miss me with that shit you fuckin clown

    4. This generation is crazy! U listen to a kid that has tongue another man yet lil nas x is hated on. In the golden era, this would never happen. No only does the music suck, you guys dress like women. Skinny jeans, pocketbooks, dresses and women colored clothes are nonsensical for straight men. Some or later hip hop will return to radio. Rap is for girls and hip hop is men.

    5. Never been a fan of weezy but he doing his.. what I wouldn’t mind though is a Hotboyz new album. Been a minute since ‘99

    6. Theres like 2 or 3 songs on this album that may be worth listening to in 5 years. Maybe. Eminem’s album is the opposite. Theres only like 2 or 3 songs that won’t be worth listening to again in 5 years. Waynes album is largely forgettable and all over the place with 2 or 3 tracks that SLIGHTLY remind you of what he was once capable of lyrically, all in all a bitter sweet experience. Eminem’s album is a fucking masterclass in the art of flowing and the ability to control your flow over a track. His ability to reinvent the way he rhymes over 80% of the entire album cements his status as one of the greats. Lyrically it’s in a different universe from Funeral. Lil wayne plays with Duplos Em plays with interdimensional legos.

    7. The shit’s weak tho and it’s all about popularity anyway. All these lil white kids will buy it up still. But not as mic. As black peoples. Mofakas sharing Spotify accounts with 5 others. Never pay for shit but want it all.
