Lil Wayne Shoots Seven More Videos

Lil Wayne has reportedly recorded another seven videos, in addition to the several recorded just weeks ago.

According to MTV News, the Cash Money rapper revealed on Saturday (February 27) that he was shooting the videos in one day.

One of the videos is apparently for the Rebirth track, “Runnin’.”

“I’ma show y’all the [work] ethic of a true artist,” said Wayne in a video. “You know what I’m talkin’ about? Seven videos. I shot 10 in two days before. Now we about to do seven in one night. [‘Runnin’ ‘] was one. Next we about to do Drake’s song called ‘Afrika Boombatta.'”

In related news, Wayne’s prison sentence for criminal weapons possession will begin on March 2, after being postponed due to the rapper’s dental issues.

      1. a title of a song thats someones name, someone who pioneered and embodies hip hop, doesnt make it hip hop. “thats so hiphop!!!!” … what a fucking lame

      2. @ C-ARSON, hip hop is so vast and wide spread, that everyone’s interpretation will be different, you seem to like and associate whats hip hop with the standards of the late 70′ early 80’s. Hip hop has evolved and come so far from those days, look around and listen, and get with the times, thats probaly why your faverite rappers have little success, and you get upset when people mention sales as a means of determining who’s winning, the beat boxing days, and back packers riding the train days are over, you might still like that, but dont get mad at hip hop for growing with the times

      3. @ Harry:

I love how you say we need to get with the times but this is how I see it. If all rappers got with 2010, then everything would sound the same again. Everyone would be using Autotune with a techno/dance like beat and rapping about their swag and their money. Is that something we’re not trying to do? Hip hop needs its variety from the hardcore boom-bap to the radio-friendly club-pop. THAT’s what keeps it running. If everyone sounded like 2010, then it would get tiring fast. I’m more of an underground person but I don’t completely hate the mainstream. There are some mainstream songs that are to my liking. So yes, I agree that not everyone needs to sound like the 80s and 90s but not everybody needs to sound like today either. We need the variety to balance things out. Peace!

      4. @ harry. First off I don’t know how your comment pertains to my own. your wrong and misinformed. So are you saying that your favorite rappers ARE the most successful ones? In my opinion there are some hiphop basics created in the 70’s and 80’s that are more then just guide lines. Drake has admitted he can’t/doesn’t freestyle, if you can’t freestyle your a chump, straight up. Drake is also THE most mainstream Entity I’ve ever seen enter the rap world. That’s why i was surprised by his choice of song title, thats all. behind the times? GTFOH! Trust me I ain’t. You would be surprised by my favorite rappers.

      5. @ Miguel Guttierres, im not talking about the fads like auto tune, I hate that shit to, but im talking about infusing live instruments as oppose to 2 turntables and a mic, not just break beats, like used back in the day, im talking like callabos, and pushing the envelope and allowing it to continue to reach out globally, when hip hop was created it wasnt just ment for the underground, and when rappers get deals the underground aspect is dead, and in order to make it or have any success, you need the mainstream and record sales,

      6. @ C-ARSON, yes most of my faverite rappers are the ones that have success in sales, because they know how to stay with the times, and im talking lyrically as well, not the ones rapping about bullshit, dumb shit, and females, im from the era of the 80’s so catchy and clever word play are a must for me, but music wise, we had to move on past the beat breaks, no one is sratching on the records anymore, hip hop has moved past that time to new and inovative ways like live music, freestyling is ok, but not a needed ingredient, as for lyrics make much better since when they are thought out and written down, remember Public Enimy, Rakim, KRS, LL, those dudes words came from thinking, these freestyle guys just open their mouth and a bunch of bullshit that makes no sense, but rhymes comes out

      7. @ Harry:

Yeah, I like the live instrument fusion too. Nas and Damian Marley are doing that for Distant Relatives coming up. I like rap acts like The Roots, Outkast, RZA and Mos Def for that, but like I said before, we need the variety. Too much of one thing isn’t good. It’s like eating the same food everyday, you get sick of it. So for every group that’s performing with live instruments, we need another group that does the basic 2 turntables and a mic and/or beat breaks to keep that hip-hop essence alive. And for us consumers, the listeners, we don’t have to worry about who sells the most. Let the rappers worry about that. We need to feel the music, not the money. I’m not saying change your mind about your favorites, I’m saying don’t let the sales determine who’s the best. Peace.

      8. @ MIGUEL, Im not saying that you choose a faverite based on sells, but i believe and feel my faverites have not only lyrical skills, but musical skills as well and keeps the relevant with a following based of resect for what they have done, KANYE, JAYZ, NAS, TI, EMINEM, just to name a few, people come from different places, I never rode the train, so I dont care for the back pack hip hop, Peace bro

      9. Harry:

Hey, I never rode the train neither. I’m from Texas LOL! But “backpack rap”? I don’t like that term too much. I just call it straight up underground. But I feel you on people being good lyrically and musically and the ones you listed are actually some of my favorites. I guess I kinda took the whole “get with the times” thing a little too far because normally when someone says that, they mention autotune and “ass-shaking” music. It’s nice to see that you take that under a different limelight though. As long as they got lyrics and a nice beat, I’m down for whatever. I can listen to songs from Black Moon, Jeru the Damaja and Mobb Deep to songs from Jay-Z, T.I. and Outkast. I like the variety. No Soulja Boy or Gucci Man though. LOL

    1. How the fuck can drake b better then weezy when weezy writes all of drakes shit? That shows u that weezy can make a star outta anybody. I mean big ups to drake he doin his thing but he aint a rapper he’s an actor

      1. Naw Homie actually it’s the other way around. Drake writes for Weezy just like Gillie did. Drake is one of those artist who can go to any label and become successful. Lil Wayne on the other would not have been successful on any other label than Cash Money/Young Money. Drake was meant to make a impact just like Eminem, 50, Jay Z and so on.

    2. Not a lil wayne fan but i have to give it up, he’s doing stuff only iconic stars have the power and energy to do.

    3. So it’s videos #1223-1230 with three mixtapes coming out this month.

Followed by the MTV special “Lil Wayne: My Time in Jail”
Followed by an actual song called “My Time in Jail” where he aparently becomes the “realest nigga to ever live” people will pretend they can relate to that shit.

Then a beef between lil Wayne and some dude will start where the dude says lil Wayne got “special treatment” in prison. Some will think its gay shit, others think its pampering lile cable in his cell.

Then people will start the “Wayne is gay” comments, where Wayne will retaliate by releasing 300 more songs about getting pussy before getting a girl pregnant with his 4th no 5th child.

      1. man you just hating on lil wayne because you can make a music video worth shit!!!!!!!!!!

Very typical track from Trey. Nevertheless, it’s a good track.
