Lil Wayne Reveals Rap Legend He Still Wants To Work With

Lil Wayne has teamed up with innumerable rap icons over his illustrious career, yet there is one person he has yet to record with despite his star power.

During an appearance on Not Just Football with Cam Heyward, Weezy listed his dream collaborations, naming several artists who are sadly no longer alive.

Michael Jackson,” he said off top. “The second one would be — not even the second [but] 1A would be Prince. You already know that the other two — if we’re going to do rap — the other two have to be Biggie and ‘Pac, plain and simple.”

He then shifted his focus to partnerships that are still possible and added: “Now somebody that’s living, that’s right here walking this planet with us: Lauryn Hill.”

The Hot Boys alum has shared the mic with Ms. Hill in some capacity, though.

Last year, Lil Wayne stunned fans and peers alike by making a surprise appearance at Lauryn Hill’s show in Los Angeles as part of her 25th anniversary tour.

The highlight of his cameo wasn’t a performance of one of his own hits, but a freestyle over the Fugees‘ classic song “Ready or Not.”

The Game was among those who were blown away by Wayne’s impromptu bars, with the Compton rapper reacting to the footage by writing: “Got chills [hands-up emoji].”

A collaboration between Lil Wayne and Lauryn Hill may yet still happen.

The former has long been teasing a sixth installment in his flagship album series Tha Carter, and he even confirmed that it will be his next full-length release during his Not Just Football interview, although he wasn’t able to provide a concrete release date.

He has already seemingly recorded material with Fugees star Wyclef Jean, who he was spotted in the studio with back in 2022.

Hill, meanwhile, hasn’t released an album since her 1998 debut The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, though she gave fans renewed hope for a follow-up last month when she appeared to confirm her son YG Marley’s statement that “music’s on the way.”

    1. This guy was called out back in the late 2000s by so many rappers for being corny and wack and now because the new generation is praising him he’s being called as one of the greatest. What a great time to be alive.

    2. Wayne is a legend but he did make some moves I didn’t like back then. Kissing baby, tight pants and skate boards, and really drugging out. He birthed dudes like nbayoung boy for example who does all of those things plus painting nails. He is 1 hell of an mc but he changed the culture in a negative way and people have forgotten
