Lil Wayne reconnected with some familiar faces over the weekend as he hosted a McMain High School reunion in New Orleans, Louisiana.
A series of photos from the Class of 2000 reunion showed Weezy looking happier than ever as he reunited with some of his classmates and shared a few laughs with old friends throughout the night.
The Young Money icon was already famous as a high schooler as he released his debut album, Tha Block Is Hot, through Cash Money Records in 1999 when he was just 17 years old.
Wayne rocked a black adidas sweatshirt and enjoyed a night of bowling at Fulton Alley with his signature double cup in hand.
“Big Thank you to @liltunechi and @youngmoney for allowing me to provide sound for Wayne’s High School Reunion,” DJ Meel wrote on Instagram after serving as the DJ for the high school reunion.
Lil Wayne’s high school reunion served as a warm-up for his Lil Weezyana Fest, which went down at Champions Square in New Orleans on Saturday night (October 29).
The festival featured performances from the likes of Rick Ross, Cam’ron and Quavo and Takeoff, as well as a headlining set from Weezy himself, who brought out Drake as a special guest.
“Can you please make some noise for this foreigner? Let’s show him a good time in America,” Wayne said before Drizzy hit the stage to a roar from the crowd.
The Young Money duo performed collaborations such as “The Motto” and “She Will,” before Drizzy went into his own catalog for “In My Feelings,” “God’s Plan,” “Nonstop, “Knife Talk” and plenty more.
Good on him.
Glad he did something like this. Everyone else too rich and busy for the real shiit.
