Lil Wayne Claims He’s Got 20 More Albums In His Back Pocket

Lil Wayne dropped his long-awaited Funeral album on Friday (January 31), but he’s already looking ahead to what’s next. In an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Weezy said he’s quickly moving on from his latest LP because he’s got enough material for 20 more.

“My fans, they also know that once it’s put out, they already know I’m moving on,” he told Lowe. “They already know I got 20 more albums already in my back pocket.”

Earlier in the conversation, Wayne noted he always works “down to the wire” before turning in his projects for release. When asked if his constant recording schedule allows him to live in the moment, the Young Money boss explained how his creative process lets him do just that.

“I think I probably be the definition of that because I don’t write my music,” he said. “I just go in there and say whatever the hell I’m feeling and try to make it rhyme. So with that said, every time you get a bar from me, it’s dealing with the moment.”

    1. Lil Wayne is in my top 10 rappers ever list. Time for us to give Wayne his proper credit for contributions to the culture. Old school rappers and old head fans often make negative comments about the new generation of hip hop artists. However, many of those same old school rappers don’t release new music whatsoever. They just sit back like bitter people and throw stones at the new generation. The new generation take chances with their art and release more material in comparison to older rap artists. That doesn’t mean music from the new generation is wack. It is a different sound from a different generation of rappers for a different audience.

      1. Dude you have tekashi snitch9 in your generation you have mumble rap like really shit your generation don’t even know if it’s a boy girl or a fucking toaster get the fuck outta here… old school rap wasn’t about music was about being a true G…

      2. Lil Wayne is an “old school rapper” you stupid fucking child, his first album came out in the damn 90s. You are just associating him with newer music because he’s trash like the other losers you listen to. lol

      3. Top 10 rapper? Ur dreaming right. Old heads don’t like the music because it is horrible. If the music was dope, we would listen to it. A bunch of rappers with the same and style is not banging. We actually listen to the records you guys do not. We had classic artists and records. You have fads like mumble, rnb, trap, pop and other garbage rap. Three so called good songs doesn’t make an excellent album. Hot rappers really mean lack of talent. Hip hop music is hot and good. Your culture is screwed up. Skinny jeans, dresses, bright colored clothes are women attire. In 15 years, your generation will realize that the corporations used the lil kids to sell women clothes to heterosexual men. What’s next high heels and panties? OUR RECORDS ARE DOPE! YOUR RECORDS ARE MADE BY DOPES!

    2. Wayne has fallen the fuck off. His music has not grown at all. He makes trash music now. Not one banger in funeral. Wayne needs to stop dressing like a teenager, stop skate boarding and most importantly stop doing drugs because his art and legacy is suffering greatly.

    3. It’s easy to drop 20 albums when you have garbage lyrics you just randomly freestyle…He doesn’t make high quality music, so it’s easy to just pump shit out.

    4. 20 more records of absolute bullshit. Why do fans like him? A heterosexual who kisses men. I guess a hot rapper actually means flaming as in gay.

    5. I hear this man kiss another man on the ass lips. He not welcome here in Japan. We do not tolerate homosexuals here. It is not the way of the samurai. They dishonor their famiry.

    6. Garbage ass album, no name cheap producers, cash money kept all the ghost writers and this album sounds as bad as he did at 16

    7. Mama Mia was the only track on there that hits IMO. He needs to do an entire album with Eminem. That would pit him back in the relevant list.

    8. Can we please stop pretending lil wayne thinks this shit off the top of his head. Like he just comes up with it without any forethought. Its just the dumbest fakest bullshit thats obviously a lie. Hes dope. Why pretend the shit is not at all worked on?

      1. But he does tho. He doesn’t do it all at one time but punches in bars a few at a time. Still off the top of his head. That’s why he has so many songs. The writing process prolongs things. I my self just did two albums in a week.. Both on all streaming services. Imagine how much music he has not having to work a 9 to 5 using this technique.
Sources Wayne docs, YouTube,.. I do the shot everynight

    9. It’s crazy to see Wayne’s fall from the top and how people overreact to it. It was inevitable. he def isn’t whack today, he still had some sick bars on Funeral, but man, he used to really be Godzilla on tracks, someone you’d kill to get a feature from. But something happened. Wayne saying he had 20 albums worth of content from 2004-2012 would’ve been a real eye opening statement. He kept the torch lit from Hot Boys through Drake. People saying he is ruining his legacy by putting out music today aren’t respecting him as an artist. If Biggie was alive but became whack after Life After Death, would we not hold R2D and LAD in such high regard today? I always wonder about the legacies of artists and how death or retirement affect it. What if 50 passed after The Massacre, Kanye after MBDTF, Wayne after Carter IV, Eminem after The Eminem Show, DMX after Flesh of my Flesh, Jay after Blueprint 3… they’re not as untouchable as they used to be, but they still put out bangers on occasion, and we should respect and appreciate that they have the courage to make music. Just because a long hot streak ends doesn’t mean their legacy is tarnished if they put out albums that aren’t going platinum or featuring songs that chart on the billboard top 10. Or if they repeat their old styles that made them big, it doesn’t make their groundbreaking albums less groundbreaking. I can safely say I’d feel like Andre 3000 if I was them, and be afraid to make music.

      1. Little wayne is horrible. One time lil wayne said his rhymes don’t make sense that He needs to do better Next time . Lil wayne sounds really dope. U like a guy that tongue kiss another man that’s sad. The new generation will like any damn thing.

    10. I just wish all you dick riding anus cock suckers quit hating .,, why are ball holders like yourself passing judgement … are you making the albums doing the interviews… are you putting in the hrs the time the money … no your just a I wish type of mufucka … if I was Wayne … I wish I wash making the rymes or I wish I had that type of skill I wish I had that type of money …. quit dick riding and skill biting … sound like a bunch of sound lickers and ball grappling cock twirling haters
