Lil Wayne Addresses Cash Money Records Feud On “Sh!t” Remix

Today (January 13) Lil Wayne gifted fans with a new track off of his upcoming Sorry 4 the Wait mixtape.

Within the track, which is a remix of Future’s Honest album single “Sh!t,” Weezy addresses his controversial situation with Cash Money Records.

In between a slew of punchlines, Weezy raps “Did my time at Cash Money / Time served and release / But this agent ain’t free, word / That’s just word on these streets / But that shit is old news, that shit yester-week /
I’m just focused, focused on my expertise.”

The lyrics stem from Wayne’s public outcry to be released from his longtime label, Cash Money Records. Just last month, Wayne took to Twitter to address his concerns with Cash Money.

“To all my fans, I want u to know that my album won’t and hasn’t been released bekuz Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it,” he tweeted.

“I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain’t that easy,” he continued. “I am a prisoner and so is my creativity. Again, I am truly sorry and I don’t blame ya if ya fed up with waiting 4 me & this album. But thk u.”

While Wayne’s new lyrics aren’t exactly derogatory, they do serve as evidence his contract situation is still on his mind.

    1. No Coincidence that him joining Zulu Nation and wanting to leave Cash Money happened at the same time. They schooled him to what Birdmn is really about.

      1. Continuing from my last post, birdman has been very generous. Without him, wayne would be some broke hoodlum on the street like he was when he was young and his neglient mother didn’t take care of him. Birdman gave him not only life but a career and this is what he gets in return? Wayne’s career is finished.

    2. dan you do know that jay z wanted to sign wayne before birdman rite.

fucking amateur and why come for his mom all situations are different

    3. (Dan) Birdman didn’t give him life! He helped him with a career that stemmed from talent and a determination to make it. Yes Cash Money has helped Lil Wayne’s career but he has also brought a lot to their company because most of Cash Money artist that make money are from Wayne’s Young Money. Wayne is the only Cash Money artist to be at the top of his game.

    4. What the fuck was that?
Please tell me that was just some goofin off recording or something. Is this what we call music now? really?

    5. I’m sorry but wayne passed the torch and he is not getting it back anytime soon. I’m a fan of wayne but this was just sad to hear. This might be the reason cash money is putting his album release on hold. There is no fire on wayne right now he’s cold( not in a good way)
