Lil Uzi Vert has switched up their look yet again, altering the length and complexion of their hair to a format that many believe resembles Frank Ocean.

On Tuesday (January 2), several Philadelphia celebrities were on hand to see Cherelle L. Parker was inaugurated as the first female mayor in the city’s history. Among the many famous faces present at the event were Freeway, DJ Jazzy Jeff and, of course, Uzi, who showed up with their hair cut short and dyed green.

It wasn’t long before social media users began drawing comparisons between them and Ocean, referring specifically to the latter’s cover art for 2016’s Blond.

“uzi in his frank era,” one person wrote on Twitter, while another echoed the same sentiment with: “n-gga in his blond era.”

One social media user kept concise, adding: “Frank Uzi.”

Despite the vibrant hair, Uzi had on a plain suit that was much more subdued than how they usually dress. The new look does seem to match a recent statement in which they even expressed their desire to completely change their appearance moving forward.

During an interview with Ryan Leuteritz for L.A. Weekly, the Philly rapper was asked which tattoo was their favorite. Instead of picking one out, they revealed plans of getting rid of them all to adopt a more clean-cut image.

“My favorite tattoo [is] none of them,” they said. “I’m trying to get them removed. All of them. I wanna go corporate.”

Funnily enough, Uzi got their first face tattoo for the exact opposite reason stated above. In an interview with The FADER in 2017, they recalled being homeless after their mother kicked them out of the house for quitting their job at Bottom Dollar Food.

“I had a job for fucking four days,” they said. “I couldn’t do it. I’m not normal. I was in there just thinking, ‘Why am I doing this?’”

To make sure they focused on their music career, the rapper got “Faith” inscribed below their hairline, saying: “It was like, ‘If I get this face tattoo, I got to focus.’ I can’t go in nobody’s office with a suit on with this shit on my face. I got to focus on what I want to do.”
