Lil Durk and the estate of the late King Von, along with their OTF label and associated record companies and distributors, are being accused of responsibility for rapper FBG Duck‘s killing — and of glorifying and profiting from it — in a new lawsuit by Duck’s mother LaSheena Weekly and two bystanders injured in the shooting that killed him.

The suit, filed on Wednesday (October 9) in Circuit Court in Cook County, Illinois, mentions an allegation first reported in 2023, that Von placed a $100,000 bounty on Duck. The suit holds Durk, who signed Von to his OTF label, responsible for the alleged bounty as well.

“Lil Durk…engag[ed] in, plann[ed], approv[ed] the bounty on FBG Duck’s life and condon[ed] the acts of violence King Von engaged when he knew or should have known of the violent conduct, and violent histories of King Von and other known gang members he affiliated [with],” the suit reads.

“Lil Durk knew long before 2020 that King Von had a vendetta against FBG Duck, sought to rob and kill in the music industry, and consistently sought to build a brand of violence and reality rap based on committing real acts of violence on FBG Duck and the public at large.”

King Von was killed in November 2020 in Atlanta, just three months after Duck was murdered in Chicago. In January 2024, six men, all of whom are charged in the suit as well, were found guilty of FBG Duck’s murder.

OTF is accused in the suit of being “a hub for the O-Block criminal enterprise and street gang.” and “the media outpost of the O-Block criminal organization.”

The suit accuses Empire, which distributed Von’s music, of knowing “that King Von had a vendetta against FBG Duck, sought to rob and kill in the music industry, and consistently sought to build a brand of reality rap based on committing real acts of violence on FBG Duck and the public at large.”

“EMPIRE undertook some or all of the wrongful conduct alleged herein with the knowledge that the killing of FBG Duck or any killing or criminal activity would increase streams, drive records sales, and enhance a brands profits,” it continues. Similar charges are made against Alamo, Sony, and UMG/Interscope.

A representative for Lil Durk had no comment about the suit.

FBG Duck, real name Carlton Weekly, was shot and killed in August 2020 while shopping in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood. The rapper’s girlfriend and another shopper, both plaintiffs in the new suit, were wounded in the attack.

Duck, who was 26 at the time, was pronounced dead when he arrived at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Prosecutors claimed that the rapper was a victim of an ongoing gang feud between O Block and the Tookaville faction of the Gangster Desciples, which Duck was allegedly a member of.
