After last week’s events closing down New York’s historic Fat Beats retail store on Sixth Avenue, the Los Angeles location is following suit. Announced this afternoon, the Melrose Avenue location of the famed record shop will feature free public performances from the likes of legendary Los Angeles Hip Hop acts such as Freestyle Fellowship, MC Eiht, Ras Kass, Kurupt and Funkdoobiest.
Additionally, longtime Fat Beats employees and Beat Junkies members DJ Rhettmatic and J. Rocc will also perform. Newer acts such as DXnext alum TiRon, Freddie Gibbs, Trek Life and Tunji will also perform. Out of market acts such as legendary Bronx, New York emcee Percee P, Gary, New Jersey’s The Artifacts and Queens, New York’s Prince Po will also be on hand to perform.

Can’t have a music store anymore, you got to be selling others things like shirts/pants, computers or books. I thought food and music make a good mix, if have a little left over from purchasing music buy some treats to go with it.
