As confirmed two weeks ago, New York’s Fat Beats Records store is closing. To commemorate the 16 years the Sixth Avenue record shop was in business, a week of performances and fanfare have been planned. Early 1990s New Jersey graffiti-inspired Rap duo The Artifacts, Masta Ace, Immortal Technique and J-Live are among those slated to rock the mics. Additionally, former and current Fat Beats employees The Juggaknots, The Arsonists, DJ Eclipse and Brown Bag Allstars will also perform in this week’s events.

To close down the Hip Hop landmark, Saturday, September 4 will feature Pete Rock, DJ Premier, DJ A-Trak and Just Blaze deejay in store. Max Glazer and Cipha Sounds are also slated to appear that day, along with a performance from Sadat X and A.G.
