Kodak Black is wanted by police in Florida after violating his bail conditions by failing a drug test.
According to legal documents obtained TMZ, a warrant for the 25-year-old rapper’s arrest was signed off by a judge in Broward County on Thursday (February 23), with the paperwork being filed on Saturday (February 25).
The warrant states that sheriff’s deputies have the authority to take Kodak (real name Dieuson Octave) into custody if they encounter him.
Law enforcement believe the Pompano Beach native failed a drug test on February 8. The results showed traces of fentanyl, the highly potent synthetic opioid that has claimed the lives of fellow rappers Mac Miller, Juice WRLD and Lil Peep.
Kodak reportedly also failed to report for a random drug test a week earlier on February 3 and didn’t submit a sample.
If he’s caught, there are additional orders to hold the “Super Gremlin” hitmaker without bond until his next hearing in the drug possession and trafficking case that briefly landed him behind bars last year.
Kodak Black was arrested in Fort Lauderdale in July 2022 after police discovered over 30 oxycodone pills and almost $75,000 in cash inside his Dodge Durango during a traffic stop. Cops said his tags and license were also expired.
In a series of since-deleted tweets shortly after his arrest, Yak ridiculed the “pinky dick” police officer who cuffed him and claimed he pulled him over simply so he could cop a feel of his “big dick.”
“‘Yea My Daughter Talks About It So Much I Had To Pull Em Over So I Can Feel It Myself .. No Lie Bro Felt Like He Had A Shotgun In His Front Pocket,'” he quipped, imitating the cop’s voice.
His attorney Bradford Cohen, meanwhile, claimed the drugs that were seized during the arrest were legally prescribed. Cohen said his client had “battled chronic pain” since being shot in the leg in February of that year and the pain killers were “necessary” to treat his injury.
Cohen also argued that there was nothing illegal about the money discovered in Kodak’s vehicle and it comes with the territory of being a successful musician, who is often paid in cash and needs large amounts of it to pay for several tour expenses.
Due to his lengthy criminal history — which includes a first-degree assault and battery conviction along with various drug and weapons offenses — Kodak Black was placed under house arrest after posting a $225,000 surety bond.
A judge also ordered him to submit to drug testing, wear a GPS ankle monitor and remain at home unless for medical reasons, court appearances or employment.
