Kid Cudi Promises Untold Stories In Memoir: ‘I Hope [It] Inspires People’

Kid Cudi has promised that his forthcoming memoir will include stories that his fans have never heard of, and hopes his new book will inspire his supporters to follow their dreams.

Cudder took to Twitter on Sunday (March 12) to announce that he’s hard at work on his memoir and that it could potentially arrive sometime next year.

“Hey, what’s going on guys?” Cudi said via Twitter Voice. “So right now, I’m working on my memoir and I have about four or five chapters so far and I touched on a lot. I talked about a lot of shit that y’all have no idea and stuff that you’ve never heard about. My upbringing, you know, how I got started with music and even how I got interested in acting.”

He continued: “This book is gonna be something I hope inspires people. Anybody that has a dream or wants to do anything, especially those kids in those small towns somewhere in the United States or anywhere outside the world, in another country, that just wants to do something great with their lives. This book is gonna give you that push.

“This book is definitely gonna continue the same formula I started with the music and hopefully it’ll be something you can keep with you and something that can guide you and give you some inspiration and some hope. Hopefully, this is gonna be out next year sometime. Next fall? Maybe? So I’ll keep you guys posted on the progress.”

Cudi first announced that he was writing a memoir last September, saying it will explain his “troubled boy” beginnings.

“Started writing the first chapter of my book,” he wrote on Twitter at the time. “Its comin together really well. Tellin my story in my own words is scary, but I feel like it needs to be told. I feel like everything will make a lil more sense as to why you all met such a troubled boy in the beginning.”

The memoir is just one of many projects Kid Cudi has in the works. The Ohio native is also currently crafting his next album, and just last week declared that the project will be a strong “Album of the Year” contender.

“I’ve never made a project this powerful before in my life. Sitting, listening to these mixes, I just know that this shit is going to move you,” Cudi said on IG Live. “Y’all are going to fuck with this shit in such a major way and I’m so fucking excited.

“I just wanted to get on here and just let y’all know that I’m not gonna let y’all down. This is gonna be the album of the year right now, I’m not playing. This is not a fucking joke. Tell everybody you fucking know, ok?”

Cudi also revealed that the first single off the project — which will serve as the follow-up to last year’s Entergalactic — will drop in June.

“June, the first single is happening. June 1, okay?” he said. “It’s not a fucking game. This shit is going down, alright? I’m back.”

While further details remain scarce, Kid Cudi has suggested that his next album will likely be his last considering he has one full-length release left on his current deal with Republic Records.

“Im doin 1 more album and then im done w my deal and not sure what ima do after that but yea, 1 more,” the Man on the Moon rapper tweeted last November. “Wont be next year. Keep u posted.”

He added: “This is for all my fans that have been ridin w me for so long. This will be all new music. The songs ive teased ill prolly put out as singles here and there to hold u over.”
