Kid Cudi believes there needs to be more “love and support” shown in Hip Hop — and he’s setting an example by heaping praise on one of the game’s top producers.

Cudder took to X (formerly known as Twitter) on Tuesday (June 11) to share his thoughts on the current state of rap, writing: “We need more love and support for one another in hip hop man. I gotta do better too.”

He continued: “I try to show homies work sometime but I gotta really celebrate what my homies do or even people I dont know I think are dope. To spread the world, get cool shit out there I think u need to.”

The Cleveland native then gave props to Hit-Boy, Young Thug signee Strick and Jaden Smith.

“On that note if yall sleepin and aint seein the awesome shit Hit Boy doin yall better get w it,” he added. “@Hit_Boy also see Strick got an album droppin soon I know that shit bout to be crazy, whoelse, Jaden im checkin for him hes cookin.”

Kid Cudi and Hit-Boy have collaborated in the past on songs such as “Red Eye” from Cudi’s 2013 album Indicud and “Old School Caddy” from Hit’s 2012 mixtape HITstory.

As for Strick, Mr. Rager teamed up with the YSL rapper on “Moon Man” from the label’s 2021 compilation Slime Language 2.

Cudi and Jaden also have a strong relationship, with the pair working together on “On My Own” in 2019 from the latter’s ERYS album.

Jaden Smith was set to join Kid Cudi on his INSANO World Tour this year, but the Man on the Moon maestro was forced to cancel the trek after breaking his foot at Coachella.

The pair have even teased a full project together, with Cudi writing on X earlier this year: “Me and Jaden gonna make an album for all the trippy kids out there searchin beyond for something, searchin for that feelin. To be ALIVE.”
