Doe Boy has questioned Kid Cudi‘s relationship with Cleveland, claiming the Man on the Moon rapper has “never wanted to connect” with the city.

Doe, who also hails from the 216, made the comments during an interview with Bootleg Kev where they discussed Cleveland’s Hip Hop scene.

The Future signee said he “fucks with” Machine Gun Kelly because “he really used to be around back in the day” and “stands on business,” but has different feelings towards Cudi.

“I don’t know that n-gga. Nobody I know in the city know that n-gga,” he said. “I can’t tell you nothing about him. I mean, I know a couple of his songs and that is somebody that I would like to fuck with.

“But he was never there, he never wanted to connect with the city. At the end of the day, that’s cool because that’s your business and you ain’t obligated to do nothing.”

When Bootleg Kev asked him if he’d work with Kid Cudi if the opportunity arose, Doe Boy took a long pause to think before replying: “I don’t know… I’d have to ask somebody what they think about that.”

He added: “I have wanted to work with him before, but when it gets to a certain point I’m like, ‘Alright.'”

Doe Boy’s sentiment echoes that of fellow Cleveland natives Rich Paul and Jake Paul, who recently claimed that Kid Cudi has never been “embraced” by their hometown.

“Do I think how Cudi treats Cleveland is weird? No, because I don’t think Cleveland ever embraced Cudi, unfortunately,” LeBron James’ longtime agent said on the latter’s podcast. “Because you can’t expect somebody to treat a situation any different to how they were treated.”

Jake said Cudi “acts like he’s not from there” and accused the rapper of asking for an insultingly high fee to perform at his fight against Tyrone Woodley in 2021.

“He asked for an astronomical fee that was like, ‘Fuck you,’” the boxer said. “And I get it. But it’s like, this was some shit to tap in back with the city. Like, first event back from COVID.”

Kid Cudi later hit back at the pair’s comments in a lengthy rebuttal on social media.

Addressing Rich Paul, he wrote on X: “He doesn’t know my life. My mom lives in Cleveland and Ive been goin there on holidays and summer breaks for years. Mostly when im in Cleveland, its family time.

“Im not throwin events in the city cuz its already too hot for me in the city. When im there I like the chill. Im not hangin at Cleveland clubs or in the streets or whatever the fuck else u expect me to do.”

He added: “I will say the city of Cleveland has embraced me over the years. So I disagree. Radio in Cleveland might not play my shit, but I had 20k people at Moon Man’s Landing in Cleveland last year. A success. And were doin it again too.

“Not only does the city embrace me, I make most people in that city and the state of Ohio proud. Everytime I record a record I mention the city. Thats all day. Everybody that listens to my music knows Im proud of where im from.”

Mr. Rager then responded to Jake Paul’s boxing story, saying: “Listen chief, Im an artist. A real one. I make art for a living. Im not some guy that comes out to perform at boxing matches.

“I entertained it tho cuz it was u, and tho it went against what I stand for I submitted a fee. My fee is my fee. Especially for some shit thats not my style. If im gonna do it its gonna be worth it for my pockets and time. This is business baby. Im not these other rappin ass n-ggas that will show up for a lil check.”
