During a recent trip to New York, Compton’s Kendrick Lamar spoke on the latest Detox “rumor” and confirmed new work with Just Blaze. The Top Dog Entertainment emcee also explained how he introduced himself to Just Blaze in the studio and how they ended up working with one another.
“Me and Just Blaze been working on some shit,” K. Dot explained in an interview with AllHipHop. “We have a possible one in the can.”
The two met during a studio session, where he introduced himself.
“When he was in the studio session one day, I introduced myself as a new artist, humbling myself…’How you doing sir, I’m Kendrick Lamar and I’m out your way.'”
The introduction may have left an impression on Just because the two were talking about working together by the next studio session.
“The next studio session, you know he wanted to work so it’s an honor. Jumped in.”
When asked about the upcoming Detox single – one on which he is rumored to be – K. Dot noted that it may be just that..
“I don’t know nothing about it,” he said while shaking his head. “I think it’s a rumor or something.”
