Kelis is slated to release her forthcoming Food album April 28, as per allhiphop.com.
The project, the singer’s sixth, is scheduled to be released on the Ninja Tune imprint.
“I’m really happy to be partnering with Ninja Tune on my new record,” Kelis says, as per allhiphop.com. “This is the album I’ve wanted to make for a long time and I want the team around me to be as excited and energetic about it as I am. I’m also very happy to be working with some of the most creative people in the industry.”
Food is slated to be produced by Dave Sitetk, a member of the indie rock band TV On The Radio. Sitek has also produced for Wale, Santigold and Scarlett Johansson, among others.
Kelis released her Flesh Tone album in 2010.
