Kanye West has teased fans that Kendrick Lamar almost made an appearance on his sprawling and controversial 2021 album, Donda.
While Kendrick appeared on The Life of Pablo track “No More Parties in L.A.” he did not feature on Donda which had no shortage of guest artists including JAY-Z,The Weeknd and Travis Scott.
Though in a new bizarre post on social media, it appears that West did reach out to Lamar to collaborate for the divisive album.
West wrote: “Man Top Dawg has always been such a good dude great energy and it fell upon my heart to bring this up amidst all of my Kendrick slander. And it’s love to Kendrick and all his people. Kendrick could have sent that Donda verse in though when I needed him.”

West also admitted he did not have the best track record of delivering verses when asked: “And I should have sent in my verses to Keem and to Don Toliver when they asked me and I apologize to both of them for that.”

Kendrick has been a frequent target of West’s of late on social media.
He recently reeled off a string of posts on X saying: “I want Kendrick to always remember that JAY-Z tweet before he ever crosses the line.”
West then claimed that Lamar was copying him: “The last Kendrick album, not that [GNX] but the previous one [Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers], is like a direct copy of [The Life of] Pablo. It’s like, ‘Oh, these are the drums from this song. This is the approach to this song.’”
He also said: “Why does [the NFL] want Drake to be out of there? Why do they want somebody with no hits like Kendrick to do the Super Bowl?”

West would also rubbish Lamar’s appearance on Playboi Carti’s chart-topping album MUSIC, saying: “I DONT LIKE KENDRICK LAMARS MUSIC. HE RAPS VERY GOOD BUT I DIDNT NEED TO HEAR HIM ON CARTI ALBUM.”
Kanye has also boldly attempted to goad the GNX MC into a rap battle and downplayed his current success, claiming he is not (and never has been) one of the top rappers of his generation.
“KENDRICK WAS NEVER KING,” he tweeted. “MAYBE KING OF THE WEST COAST, BUT NEVER KING OF THE WORLD.”
