Kanye West Reveals 3rd ‘Donda’ Listening Party Chicago Details

Kanye West is coming home again. After rumors circulated of another listening party earlier this week, Kanye made it official on Wednesday (August 18) when announcing plans for a third — fourth if you include Las Vegas — Donda listening event, but this time, Yeezy is heading to Chicago’s Soldier Field on August 26.

Kanye West revealed his plans on Instagram with a flyer that reads, “Donda Soldier Field 8 26 21.” The latest Donda showing is set to start at 9 p.m. CT and tickets will be going on sale via Ticketmaster beginning on August 20 at noon CT.

While some fans are losing faith in the project, others are eager to hear what other tweaks Kanye has made to the 20+ track album. Donda is a star-studded effort in the mold of a DJ Khaled album on steroids with features from JAY-Z, Travis Scott, Roddy Ricch, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, The Weeknd, Lil Yachty, Ty Dolla $ign, Jay Electronica, The LOX, Griselda, Playboi Carti, Baby Keem, Fivio Foreign, Vory, the late Pop Smoke, Pusha T and more.

The pair of Atlanta listening events where Kanye West was holed up temporarily living inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium were streamed exclusively by Apple Music.

The second event became the most-streamed Apple Music exclusive ever with over 5.4 million viewers. Kanye West also reportedly raked in $7 million in merchandise sales at the in-person events with over 40,000 attendees each.

Kanye’s confidant Ameer Sudan relayed to Billboard that fans can “expect a more detailed show on a whole other level.”

With the Chicago listening set for next Thursday (August 26), there’s newfound hope Donda will finally drop in the subsequent hours following the event on Friday (August 27).

Kanye’s manager and Akon’s brother, Abou “Bu” Thiam, responded to a fan saying the album will “100 percent” arrive after the Chicago listening.

    1. I hate these damn listening parties. Its like some snob shit. Im rich so im gonna fly to LA to hear 10 songs over some bubbly. If you gave a fuck about your fans, the listening party would be a livestream and the whole world would be invited to watch.

    2. It’s weird I get why he wont perform it live yet with all the features but he should save energy for a tour…obv people would get more for their money. It’s weird he shows up and doesnt perform just has that mentality of show and tell like this is music I just made kinda creepy

    3. They keep falling for this shit, lol! Kanye gonna sell 70 dollar fishsticks while he plays demo’s of an album that’s dropping on the 39th of Nevuary

    4. He is an extreme narcissist but also not confident in his musical abilities anymore since his last two albums tanked. The listening parties are basically a test to see how people react in real-time. Quite sad really.

    5. Kanye treating fans liks cash cows, listening parties at stadiums, where you can’t really absorbs the bars, hooks and beats.

    6. Features for album are fire. Album is out 22nd and honestly, you look at his albums before Kardashian pretty much all timeless. I’m telling you that divorce is going to help him musically. I’m expecting 808s with better verses and features Killin it…Ye won’t drop an album until it’s perfect by his standards. Let em take his time his last good LP was Life of Pablo

    7. Honestly at this point I don’t give a fuck. If it’s not ready, then it’s not ready. Stop stealing your fans money.

    8. I reckon Kanye, being the innovator and genius he claims he is, is just unapologetically trialling and error, experimenting & redefining what a music industry release is in 2021 in a post Covid digital optimised and retargeted online world. He no longer buys into industry standards and norms, couldn’t care less what anyone else thinks lol I personally dig his earlier stuff, some recent stuff is dope, but he’s free to serve whatever market is obviously still supporting him ??‍♂️ #freewill
