Kanye West has offered fans an update on his relationship with Pusha T after the Clipse rapper departed G.O.O.D. Music on not-so-amicable terms in late 2022.

Speaking on Justin Laboy’s The Download podcast, Kanye addressed his friendship with his longtime collaborator and one-time G.O.O.D. Music president.

“I just spoke with Pusha the other day. It was good to talk to him. It was the first time talking to him in a couple months. We made good music together,” he said.

The father of four seemed to suggest that he felt betrayed by Pusha for not supporting him during his bitter divorce and custody battle with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, but has since changed his mindset.

“I thought that somehow because I made beats and made music for somebody that when I couldn’t see my children, these people would use their platform. ‘Cause I used my platform on their behalf,” he added.

“Now I realize no one owes me anything […] If you depend on somebody who is not giving you what you need, you’re the one that’s in the wrong.”

When announcing his exit from G.O.O.D. Music, Pusha T criticized Kanye West’s antisemitic comments and affiliation with far-right figures such as Alex Jones and Nick Fuentes.

“It’s beyond that and it’s nothing to tap dance around. It’s wrong. Period,” he told XXL. “But to me, it’s just me and him having a difference of opinion yet again. ’Cause we done had this for years.”

He added: “He’s not speaking to me now. If you ain’t with it, you ain’t down. And I ain’t with it. I’m not budging on that. I’m not with it. I heard about this new stuff [on InfoWars].

“I don’t know. It’s something that just sort of tells me he’s not well, at the same time. I will say that. It’s going to places where it’s no way to move around it.”

The Virginia Beach native also expressed disappointment at Ye working with his bitter rival Drake, who he famously beefed with in 2018.

“Remember, I’m the one that said the MAGA hat is the new Klu Klux Klan hood while he’s making my album. He beefing with [former President Barack] Obama. I met Obama. But it’s the same thing with him and the Drake thing. I’m going through this and that, he’s doing shows [with Drake],” he vented.

Months after the interview was published, Kanye appeared to be back on good terms with his “Runaway” rhyme partner as he was seen enthusiastically vibing out to a Pusha T performance at Jerry Lorenzo’s Fear of God fashion in Los Angeles.

The pair have yet to release music together since Pusha’s 2022 album It’s Almost Dry, which Ye produced alongside Pharrell.
