Kanye West U-Turns On Drake Hate By Praising His ‘Great’ Partnership With 21 Savage

Kanye West has given props to Drake, just weeks after tearing into the Toronto rap star.

Speaking to Hypebeast magazine, West praised the 6 God’s collaborative partnership with 21 Savage while comparing it to his own relationship with Ty Dolla $ign.

“Man, me and Ty have been doing music for so long. It makes me think of 21 Savage and Drake, who are just such a great combination,” he said of the Her Loss duo. “What people see now, they probably didn’t realize at first.”

The Chicago rap icon then highlighted some of Ty’s contributions to his past solo albums: “It’s like, ‘Oh, Ty wrote on ‘FourFiveSeconds,’ Ty wrote on ‘Only One’ and ‘Real Friends’ and ‘Fade.” He wrote on records I did with Paul McCartney.

“And now people see these whole albums and are like, ‘Oh wow, they really make good music together, like the best music.'”

Kanye’s comments come shortly after he dissed Drake on a remix of Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” the original of which sparked the recent rap battle between Drizzy and Kendrick Lamar.

“Y’all so outta sight, outta mind/ I can’t even think of a Drake line/ Play J. Cole, get the pussy dry,” he rapped, also taking a shot at the Dreamville boss in the process.

West also made a number of disparaging comments about Drake in an interview with Justin Laboy, claiming he is merely a pawn for Universal Music Group and his “raps mean nothing.”

As for his partnership with Ty Dolla $ign, the pair’s first collaborative album Vultures 1 arrived in February as part of a planned trilogy.

The oft-delayed sequel was supposed to arrive earlier this month but its release date came and went with no sign of the album, nor an explanation from either artist.

However, Ty recently gave an update on the status of Vultures 2 on a Kick stream with Russian YouTuber Vitaly Zdorovetskiy.

“It’s dropping ASAP,” he said. “Vultures 2 is on the way. It’s coming soon. Any day now. It could be tomorrow.”

The R&B singer also confirmed that the album would not be available on streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music, but Kanye’s YZY app.
