Kanye West Donates $133,000 To Donda’s House

With his recent donation of $133,000 to Donda’s House, Kanye West has made the biggest financial contribution in the organization’s history, according to Complex.

A portion of the $133,000 the Chicago, Illinois wordsmith donated reportedly came from the proceeds from his Louis Vuitton Foundation shows in Paris, France.

Donnie Smith, the Executive Director of Donda’s House, and rapper Rhymefest were among those who thanked the rapper for his hefty donation. According to Smith, with Ye’s donation the organization will be able to bring on new staff and deliver a “high-quality arts” program.

“Kanye’s generosity is greatly appreciated and will improve our capacity with new staff as we deliver the high-quality arts programming that our participants deserve,” Smith said in a statement.

Rhymefest, who serves as one of the Donda’s House co-founders, called the donation “a great honor” to Kanye’s mother.

“This is a great honor and a true tribute to his mother’s legacy, who did so much for young artists,” Che “Rhymefest” Smith said.

Co-founded by Rhymefest and Kanye West in 2013, Donda’s House is described as “a nonprofit to support young aspiring artists in Chicago.”
