Kanye West Compares Upcoming ‘Bully’ Album To Lauryn Hill’s ‘Miseducation’

Kanye West‘s new interview with Justin Laboy gave the rapper and producer plenty of opportunities to expound on his upcoming album Bully — and in one particular moment, he compared it to a classic from Lauryn Hill — her 1998 solo debut The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

Laboy recalled how Kanye told him that Bully was “positive.”

“Yeah, because you lean on a bar that brings somebody down — that was always rap,” West explained. “This is more the way I remember Lauryn Hill[‘s] album, the way I remember Miseducation. I feel it is my Miseducation. It is my Gnarls Barkley album. Because Bully has a title and connotation that a lot of people are anti-bully. But I’m just hyper-next-level frequency right now.”

Check it below, beginning around the six-minute mark.

Elsewhere in the interview, Ye boldly claimed that he is the only man who can beat Kendrick Lamar in a rap battle.

Ye argued that while most rappers would be (and, in some cases, have been) swept aside by the Compton kingpin, he possesses a special quality that would make him a formidable opponent in the ring.

“If you rap against Kendrick, you will lose. This man does this. You know on Street Fighter, you get like a Chun-Li, you get a certain kick, and no matter what, you can’t beat that thing.

“Joe Budden said, ‘Never rap against Kendrick Lamar.’ If you rap against Kendrick Lamar, it’s a difficult task, but perhaps there’s something — I’m a psycho genius so it could be…”

Laboy then interjected: “There you have it: do not rap against Kendrick Lamar,” to which Kanye added: “Unless you’re a psycho genius like me.”

At a different point in the interview, Yeezy shared his thoughts on Kendrick’s high-profile feud with Drake that erupted last year.

Revealing his reaction to K.Dot’s victory, he said with a laugh: “[I was like], ‘Man, you killed my nemesis! Where’s the movies if it ain’t no Drake?’

“Or at least he took him down for a little bit. You know in superhero films where one of characters, like Wolverine or something, just goes away for a couple films?”

    1. This guy is addicted to making a fool of himself. I’ve never seen anything like it. He should be in an insane asylum, not a recording studio

    2. Release the footwear and the jackets also some pants and longer shorts. Get to work on the new anime and the video games. Partner with Tomonobu Itagaki for a new video game and Moon Studios for Only One. Partner with Noriyuki Abe for the anime. Dump that trash game Last Of Us 2 for Sleeping Dogs.
