Kanye West Addresses Charleston AME Church Shooting

Kanye West addressed the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church shooting in Charleston, South Carolina that left nine dead last week in a freestyle at Hot 107.9’s Birthday Bash, according to MTV.

“See, that’s the magic of racism, it works on itself,” Kanye West raps. “We hate each other, shoot each other, kill each other, when we can’t kill nobody else / See that’s the magic of lack of resources, it works on itself / 500 niggas getting pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-pop-popped and North Carolina didn’t help / See that’s the magic of racism, it works on itself.”

Nas also addressed the shooting, hoping that a cure for mental illness will be found and that racism will stop.

    1. That shit don’t even make no fucking sense.

“Racism, it works against itself POP POP POP POP POP”

      STFU

Kanye tries too hard to be the “Deep” brother but he lacks the intellect to pull it off.

    2. Man I thought I was fuckin retarded for not understanding this dudes lyrics. Come to find out, no one else does either. Thank God I’m not duh-duh-duh-retarded.

      1. Why do you click on it?…his message correlates with new slaves. Black people killing themselves. Institutionalized way of thinking conflicting harm on those that look like you. Black people are the most hated race and inturn hate each other. As soon as a black person becomes successful the first thing black people do is hate on them rather than celebrate them. Race is not real its a social mental fallacy created by man. Any person that challenges the status quo is always punished and painted to be crazy. South Carolina raises the confederate flag even though the flag is a symbol of treason, oppression and slavery and nobody says nothing, Why don’t they raise an Indian flag or a Mexican flag since the land is stolen from them? I guess you don’t understand this either huh…

    4. It doesn’t make sense to people who don’t think, nowadays if rappers don’t spoon feed you with lame effortless metaphors like young thug or any other wack “artists” people say they suc . Don’t be afraid to use your brain. I know when an artists song has an actual concept and has an actual message i know it makes your brain hurt but, if you actually work through it, you’d find that music is much more enjoyable when you actually know something about it.

    5. Kanye has always rubbed me the wrong way when it comes to his perspective on racism and /or his views on white America because it appears that he is one big contradiction. However, since he is one of a few of the many African Americans that wont hesitate to speak on such a horrific American past and /or its residual (todays inequalities), he deserves a certain level of respect that is exclusive.
Many African Americans today are left to feel inadequate, inferior, insecure and confused about their identity because of slavery. The self worth along with the most important part of us (the soul) is damaged to a point that many of us believe that an image other than one of our own heritage is the epitome of beauty, success and wealth. Both, black males and females mate with others in hopes of bearing a child of lighter skin and /or European features. Their attempts consciously and subconsciously is to eradicate pain that the past created and the present nurture.
As an African American female I find it heart wrenching to think that more and more black males have difficulty embracing the strength and beauty of the woman that carried them for nine months. Instead, the women they choose have features that vastly differentiates from their mothers.

      1. I agree with you but you lack the full understanding of ‘why’. Every brother ain’t caught up, some are reversing the genetic code to put those seeds in a position to help and that’s all I’m gonna tell you.

    6. This is like hearing the cat from I’m Gonna Get You Sucka try to drop knowledge with the white wife and kids talking about a revolution lol

    7. Kanye should know that Charleston is in South Carolina, but then again he put the Confederate battleflag on his tour T shirts.
