Kanye West is prepping the release of his next album (Graduation), which is set to be released later this year. He’s also busy working with the various acts on his own label. With Common‘s Finding Forever and other artists working on new projects, West opened up about the projects he’s got lined up and what has been going on with the label.
“John Legend is killing them worldwide…He’s got great reviews at his shows. You got the Common album [Finding Forever] about to drop. Consequence has the new video ‘Don’t Forget ‘Em,'” he told MTV recently.
When Sa-Ra recently made headlines, they spoke of a connection with West. According to West, that connection ain’t lost.
“The Sa-Ra movement, it’s already been jumping off, but now that they’re off Sony maybe we’ll be able to do a video for them and get them out properly. I’m still 100 percent behind any artists I ever messed with before. Everything doesn’t always happen overnight.”
He went on to add that he feels a responsibility to create good music, since that is the label name and all.
“I don’t think GOOD Music ever had the leeway of dropping bad music. We always had the responsibility of delivering good music. You hear about it was times where people’s brand was so strong they could put out music back-to-back and sell records. It’s a different day and age. My responsibility is to deliver [a] really good product.”
Fans will decide whether or not he delivers that good product come late August, which is when his new album is set for a release.
