Last year Forte was arrested and accused for smuggling drugs. He was seen taking a suitcase from 2 women at an airport. That suitcase had more than 30 pounds of cocaine in it. This was a big shock at the time due to Forte’s affiliation with the Fugees.
The initial reaction was that he was set up but prosecutors in Houston felt quite differently. Forte has been accused of being a major player in a huge drug ring between Houston and NYC.
Forte has been sentenced to 14 years for conspiracy to distribute drugs. He must serve 85% of his term before being eligible for parole.
