A defiant Joe Budden saw no qualms in fans’ disgust with the untimely ending of his hit Joe Budden Podcast on Wednesday (May 12).
In fact, he embraced all slander and vitriol while responding to several comments.
“Friend or not, I’m NEVER funding someone’s sabotage of me, that will NEVER happen…,” the former rapper wrote on Twitter, referencing fired co-host Rory Farrell. “[I] get far away from the threat…. You can think piece until your face turns blue.”
He also addressed several fans head-on with responses they likely didn’t expect. When one fan replied they “lost him,” he showed them the door with a “take care” reply. When another pointed out his contradictions, he dug in and told simply told them, “I’m phony.”
The fireworks were set off within The Wire-referencing Episode 437: “You Want It To Be One Way” of the Joe Budden Podcast. Although the segment was pulled from the lineup, fans still managed to salvage the juiciest audio clips.
“Y’all will not continue to treat me this way,” Joe Budden addressed his co-hosts, who had been on the outs for the better part of 2021.
He continued, “Y’all not going to continue to treat these people this way. Y’all take that fuckin’ dark energy, that arrogance and entitlement somewhere else. I say all of that to say, we gonna do this since Rory feels like he has so many options.”
And then, the ax was hammered down like a fairgrounds mallet to a lowly bell.
“Somehow he still feels he’s running the show. He still feels like he has choices and options. He feels like he’s entitled to more. Rory, you are in breach of your contract and from this point forward, you are fired! And you’re not welcome back.”
As Twitter was set ablaze, renowned Joe Budden rival Akademiks promised an epic show later in the day. Budden, for his part, still managed to enjoy his morning while still vowing to keep the show going with new co-hosts Officially Ice and Ish.
“It’s on Patreon and that’s where it will stay… I’m off to breakfast,” Budden wrote.
Check below for more of Joe Budden’s responses to angry fans. As of press time, Rory and Mal have not commented or reacted to the situation.
People had the same critiques when Marisa got booted. How many of those critics support her podcast? Will the Black Effect network sign Rory & Mal? Prolly not
I like Joe, but he has habit of burning business ties when a better opportunity comes around. He bets on himself, so you have to respect it. Friends or business associations be damned.
Doesn’t have shit to do with burning any ties. He’s going to reunite with Akademiks because that’s what companies would bid on and give him more money for, not this version of the show with those other dudes. Watch it happen. He had to create this fake circus to justify firing them after turning down the initial Spotify deal with that bullshit about ownership of a podcast that no one listens to old episodes of. It was the most ridiculous reasoning I had ever heard of in my life, and some people ate it up anyway.
this sounds like diva talk. do basically Joe left. owell I guess
Joe Budden said sorry not sorry?? How pathetic
This article is confusing. It assumes the reader already knows the story. I don’t understand at all. Not everyone listens to bestiality wife abusero Budden, policeademiks etc
Imo, this shit was orchestrated between him and the chubby guy he used to do the show with. Spotify probably told him that he could get more if they put that podcast back together, which is why out the blue after leaving Spotify, he put those other dudes on timeout and then starting cozying up to him, coincidentally after he had gotten dropped by Complex. Now he’s sending shoutouts to him and shit as he feuded with and then fired them. Watch them reunite and get a bigger deal from Spotify. It’s cornball shit, but that’s pretty much Budden’s lane and has been for a while now. They will definitely feel stupid for all of that ranting they did on his behalf when they were on his show though.
Honestly, Joe doesn’t need an entourage. He can hold hold his own during his podcast. Those other two lanes were just distractions. No doubt.
I love Joe and grew to like Rory and Mal. I will support all parties. But Joe is the real Talent.
