Jim Jones isn’t mad at his rap peers who are heading to the White House to visit Donald Trump – though that doesn’t mean he necessarily endorses the controversial president.
TMZ caught up with the Dipset rapper in New York City on Thursday (February 20), and asked him his thoughts on people like Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, Boosie Badazz and more being involved in White House events in recent weeks.
While the artists have gotten pushback from the Black community for supporting Trump, Capo feels like it’s bigger than the person in office.
“I’ma take it to the days where I knew the president is the president and we wasn’t allowed to get to the White House,” he told the outlet. “And anything to be next to the White House used to be a great thing to do because you’re now talking to the president or you’re performing for the president. The president is still the president. It’s a race. Somebody lost the race, somebody won the race.

“So what do they expect us to do? Disrespect the president because that person didn’t win? No. He’s still the president of the United States so we still have to show that much respect to the president of the United States. That’s how I feel about it. And I’m not political and shit like that. I didn’t vote for anybody, you heard? If I was to get an invitation – no matter who was in the office, nine times out of 10 I think I’ma pop out to go to the White House.”
He concluded: “I’m a kid from the projects that we known the president to be the ruler of the world when we was coming up and we seen people go crazy just to have [an invite]. So I want my chance to be at the White House too, see what’s going on. That’s how I feel. Don’t crucify me for just give you my honest opinion.
Despite their dismantling of DEI programs across the country, Trump and his administration held a Black History Month event on Thursday (February 20), where Boosie, Kodak Black and Rod Wave were reportedly among those in attendance.

Kodak’s attendance was later confirmed in a post from the White House, who shared a picture of the rapper and captioned it, “@KodakBlack in the People’s House.”
Boosie also confirmed his attendance with a few posts from the meeting, including an Instagram Story he captioned, “Just looking for justice.”
Just last month, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross and Soulja Boy all performed at the first ever Crypto Ball, which was a party thrown to welcome the incoming Trump administration. Days later, Nelly performed at his inauguration.
Boosie’s inclusion comes as little surprise as the rapper has been pleading for a pardon from Trump on his gun case for months.

Kodak has also been a supporter for years after Trump commuted his three-year prison sentence for falsifying documents to buy guns on his way out of the White House in 2021.
