JID formed an unlikely yet formidable partnership with former NFL quarterback Michael Vick during a celebrity flag football game.

Taking place in Las Vegas on the Saturday of Super Bowl weekend (February 10), the contest saw the former high school football standout-turned-rapper and Atlanta Falcons legend build up quite a rapport on the gridiron.

In an Instagram post, the “Surround Sound” rapper posted highlights of him catching passes from Vick as they led 21 Savage‘s team to victory over their Metro Boomin-captained opponents.

“Team Savage got W in the @nfl celebrity flag football game last night. Thank you to everyone who helped put it together, i slick stilll got it lol,” JID wrote in the caption.

JID is no stranger to the gridiron. As previously mentioned, he was a standout defensive and special teams player in high school and college before suffering a nasty injury and eventually getting kicked out of Hampton University.

Outside of sports, the Atlanta native recently admitted that he “hates” lyrical Hip Hop despite saying he’s “amazing” at that style of music.

“I listen to my shit ’cause I’m amazing, but I don’t listen to my style of rap,” he said on the Throwing Fits podcast. “People who do the style of rap that I do, I fucking hate it. It’s kind of weird.”

He added: “I’m just a jittery person so it comes out like that. Like, I can’t even stop myself.”

Despite JID disliking lyrical Hip Hop, Big Boi recently credited him with making him “want to rap.”

“I hear somebody like you and I’m like, ‘Yeah, boy. He get it.’ I love MCs who are not just rapping, but they’re saying stuff at the same time,” the OutKast rapper told Rolling Stone in October.
