A judge has now formally dissolved their marriage and sealed their case, meaning the details of their divorce will be kept private including information related to child custody agreements and financial settlements.
Following the announcement of his filing for divorce, Jeezy released a statement saying: “The decision to end this chapter in my life was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart. Despite this, my love and respect for Jeannie remains and the time we spent together holds a cherished place in my heart.”

He continued: “Our beautiful daughter is the best gift from our relationship, and I am committed to assuring she feels the love and stability she deserves. During this period, I kindly request that you respect our family’s privacy as we focus on healing.”
From there, the split grew acrimonious as Mai accused Jeezy of domestic abuse and neglecting their child.

The Real co-host accused the “Air Forces” rapper of being violent towards her in December 2022 and also choking her out.
Jeezy vehemently denied the claims, saying: “The allegations are not only false, but also deeply disturbing, especially coming from someone I loved. This malicious attempt to tarnish my character and disrupt my family is ridiculous.”
He continued: “It’s disheartening to witness the deceit and manipulation at play, and at this time, my main concern is being an active father to our daughter as I continue to fight for court mandated joint custody. Rest assured, the truth will prevail through the proper legal channels.”
Jeezy later claimed that Jeannie Mai made up accusations of abuse after he refused to have a second child with her.

He also received support from his former fiancée Mahlet Gebremedhin, who said: “I’ve witnessed Jay be a devoted, caring, and present Father to our daughter and his oldest child [son Jadarius].
“For almost four years, Jay’s eldest child lived with us and I was able to see their relationship grow every day. At no point was Jay ever physically, mentally or emotionally abusive to his children or I.”
