JAY-Z will return to the stage this week at Louis Vuitton’s upcoming concert in Paris to commemorate the cultural impact of Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol.
Dubbed “JAY-Z Celebration Concert,” the event takes place at the Louis Vuitton Foundation’s Auditorium in the French capital on Friday (April 14), and is also sponsored by Tiffany & Co.
“To coincide with the Basquiat x Warhol. Painting Four Hands exhibition, JAY-Z will give a celebratory concert to pay tribute to Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat, on Friday 14 April 2023 at 9pm, in the Fondation’s Auditorium,” the foundation’s website reads.
Tickets are on sale now and are going for around $175 (€140) each.
The show will be Hov’s first since performing his iconic “God Did” verse at the 2023 Grammys Awards, which he said he did out of respect for Hip Hop culture.
“I thought about it, I was in my head and I just broke down and said, ‘You know, it’s a four-minute verse.’ Again, for the culture, for Hip Hop, we got to do that,” he told TIDAL. “This ain’t your traditional song. … It’s not your traditional structure of what you think a song that would be nominated for Song of the Year would sound like. It’s not what you expect. And for the culture and for Hip Hop, we got to do that.”
He continued: “We owe that. This thing that changed our lives. We got to do that. A four-minute verse performed at the Grammys. We owe it to the culture, and it ain’t even a burden. It’s a blessing. It’s easy and fun.”
JAY-Z hasn’t been on an official tour since his 4:44 Tour in 2017, which was in support of his thirteenth studio album of the same name. The 32-date North American trek brought in around $44 million for the Roc Nation boss.
In other JAY-Z news, the Brooklyn-bred rap mogul was recently included on Forbes’ 2023 World’s Billionaires List with an estimated net worth of $2.5 billion — up from $1.5 billion the previous year.

Basquiat and Warhol were definitely great artists. Jay-Z was an okay rapper in the Jaz-O times, then he turned to be a businessman with a boring flow and a terrible taste in music to make money instead of making art. It’s a shame his name can be in the same sentence with giants like the first two gentlemen.

Who gives a fuck about Russia and Ukraine? They didn’t “side” with Russia. They sided with not intervening to save their own asses and keep the peace. I doubt any of you “Slava Ukraine!” Idiots care to know USA currently occupies MORE LAND in Syria than Russia does in Ukraine. But nope. We’re hypocrites in the west. We can invade nations on other continents. Russia invades a neighbor who has become hostile to them (Ukraine has been a western asset since 2014), so obviously, if Mexico became a Russian asset, we would consider invading too.
