Jay-Z Named In Ticket-Fixing Scandal

When Jay-Z’s driver gets pulled over for violating traffic laws, he gets off easy. According to the New York Daily News, Hov is one of many celebrities including A-Rod and Raymond Felton to use their star power to weasel out of tickets, with policemen unlawfully fixing tickets after they learn that the violators were celebrities or celebrity affiliates.

The report claims that Jay-Z’s driver was pulled over last year for speeding on the West Side Highway. A “friendly” cop lost the paperwork after it was filed, and the case was subsequently swept under the rug. Jay-Z’s publicist declined to comment.

The Internal Affairs Bureau is currently investigating these incidents. If found in violation of the law, as many as 40 policeman could be indicted for “improperly voiding tickets, losing paperwork or purposely missing court dates in order to squash summonses.”

    1. Typical. Not Jay’s fault though, we would all do it given the chance, just shows how incompitent the American police force is.

      1. its not news…chicks have been getting out of tickets for decades..smh…just because there’s one rapper named in the list HHDX can apparently make a story out of it

    2. Who cares? It’s just how people are.. Nobody wants to arrest or hand out tickets to your favourite artists. Just like how at your job, you may ignore other customers and rush to help your friend or a pretty bitch. It’s not proper, but it is what it is. They need to stop acting like nobody’s supposed to be human or cut people slack, if world worked like that everybody would revolt and kill everybody cah you’ll find yourself in breach of some law/rule near enough 20 times a day.

    3. This is not news if you are high on the totem pole this is what happens. Anyway on to more important things.

    4. “purposely missing court dates in order to squash summonses”???? am i to believe that ppl like A-Rod and jay are actually going to court to fight $100 speeding tickets?

    5. ya as most had already commented. No new news here DX. Why don’t DX do an article about Los Angeles County’s “Gold Card” situation? Though it’s not related to Hip Hop at all, it’s more of an important situation than celebs getting the pass.
